Cats' Tristan Pompey named SEC Player of the Week

After leading Kentucky to three wins in four games last week, Tristan Pompey has been named the SEC Player of the Week.
Pompey, a junior outfielder, drove in 10 runs last week as the No. 9 Wildcats defeated No. 21 Louisville and took two out of three games from league rival South Carolina.
The preseason All-American from Toronto, Canada, batted .412 on the week.
Pompey is batting .358 this season with 11 doubles, five home runs and 28 RBI. He is slugging .632, reaching base at a .455 clip, and has reached base safely in 61 of his last 64 games.
It marked the first SEC Player of the Week honor of his career.
Kentucky (22-10, 5-7 SEC) returns to action on Wednesday at Western Carolina before moving on to Georgia for a three-game SEC weekend series.
