This is inaccurate. The question did not ask whether you believe in human’s attempts to name or describe god(s), but whether you believe God exists. You are stuck in a typical argument, offering the stereotypical answer, but it really has no moment here. You don’t believe in God. Answered. The rest was superfluous.
Here is my question, why did you decide to post this bait thread yesterday? What was your inspiration? Did you just want to debate this some more?
As I said, this is one of the biggest questions that man has dealt with. I do not know what a bait thread is. My curiosity is primarily in what percentage of people would say there was no god. I thought the percentage would be somewhere around 1/3, but that was just a guess. I suspect it will end up being less than a third. We'll see. I left it open for 30 days.
I'm not sure I was inspired, but I have always really enjoyed discussing and sharing thoughts on questions like free will, why do people think and do as they do, the existence of god, is death final, do souls exist, do miracles happen, why does evil exist, do aliens exist and have they visited earth, why are people prejudiced, why are modern-day humans still tribal, what affect does IQ have on beliefs and behavior, etc... just to name a few.
I recently became aware of this forum and noted that questions like this are often posed, so I decided to do so.
To me, discussions on these kinds of issues are
FAR MORE INTERSTING than whether the Cats will won, or not. Digging deep and becoming increasingly aware of how little we actually know is fascinating and stimulating to me.
Should it matter, I am 71 years old and was raised in and was deeply-immersed in the Christian tradition for over half of my life. It was on Easter Sunday, sitting in a pew, that I came to the personal realization that I simply could not ignore the questions and doubts I'd had any longer. Since then, I've been a non-believer, but still remain a seeker of all things that fascinate me.
