Correct. The speed at which the flu mutates makes it hard to create a highly effective vaccine. That’s why I’ve never had one.

The efficacy of the TDAP, MMR, and IPV are much more effective and those diseases are much deadlier.

I hate that we vilified people for not getting the Covid vaccine. That and the flu should never be pushed on anyone unless they have underlying conditions or are old. But the other vaccines I mentioned play a really important role for us. And if you are like some of the other folks on here that jumped at me because of whatever reason, it’s even more important to get vaccinated to protect those that cannot.

Last time I checked they have child labor laws were you cannot work until a certain age. This asshat is essentially telling anyone from the age of 5 onwards to work and get a job. It would literally cost less money to have free school meals for everyone from 5 to 18 than it would to try and figure out who's poor enough to get free lunches.

Ya'll take about bureaucracy. Imagine how much work it would take to hire enough staff to go around and get the wages of each parent, salary history, etc to determine eligibility for free lunches. Take into account the turnover when it comes to new students, new jobs, etc. It would be an endless amount of work

Say one school has a population of 1000, that's contacting 1000-2000 parents to determine their salaries. That's up to 2k people in a database with their salary history, number of children, etc. Say it took 2 employees to get that information, you're probably spending upwards of $100,000 per school to pay wages for those people. Allocate that across a district of 10 schools and you're out $1,000,000.

Or, you could just budget enough money to offer 2 meals/day per student and call it a day. Literally would save money from not having to pay excess wages.

Gives me heartburn, but Friday evening I will be at a Mexican restaurant with the man that runs our softball team (who happens to be of Mexican dissent) getting everyone there to talk about an upcoming tournament sometime in February.
