A journalist doing this shows you're bending to the will of the subject. People control access to them which is how they get get compliance. Campaigns and PR teams control access through media credentials.
This means Fox was more concerned about the ratings as opposed to any type of ethics/journalistic integrity which is not surprising as that doesn't exist anymore at the corporate media level.

This is stupid. Body cam footage was officially released by police. What’s that got to do with Twitter? It’s easy to see the person came out swinging a knife, attacked the officer, and was correctly taken down. Similarly, Floyd was murdered in broad daylight and we also had the footage. The police officer was tried and convicted. That’s how the system works. If anyone thinks the cop was wrong on this new bodycam, they’re just wrong. He was attacked with a knife.
Musk is great in a lot of respects. SpaceX is incredible. Teslas are cool (I thought you guys hated electric cars?). But he ruined Twitter. Beyond the crazy amount of porn that is randomly all over it, the worst part is there’s no verification process that used to allow you to know who to trust. Instead he monetized the process and $8 will get you the blue checkmark.
