i like baseball but have lost interest over the years. i spent many, many afternoons and evenings at riverfront stadium back in the 70’s. i still watch the reds on tv when i can
IMO, baseball is a lot better watching in-person but I miss being able to watch StL every game. But, I'll watch the playoffs and WS regardless.

False. Common sense is much better. How does the Bible help with gun laws and mass shootings. I don’t remember Jesus preaching on that. Maybe I also missed Jesus talking about social security and other important topics.

If you don't believe that Jesus was God incarnate on Earth, and came to absolve people of their sins, was crucified, died, and arose from the dead in order to do this, then you would be an idiot to follow the teachings of Jesus. Because he would be a mental patient.

It's a binary choice. Anthing else makes ZERO logical sense.
Not really. His examples of how to treat your fellow man are wonderful.
He doesn't advocate violence.
He does advocate for loving your neighbor, feeding the poor, treating immigrants with respect, taking care of sick, and sharing your wealth with those in need.
He would be considered a left wing Democrat today. That's why I follow his teachings and so should you.

Because he said that's what he was. If you don't believe that he was, then he was obviously insane.
It was the language of the day. He was a spiritual teacher there to impart spiritual lessons and said so. It doesn't have to be literal. Scripture is mostly parables; they weren't speaking in pure literalities.

No, he wouldn't be.

Abortion would be a deal breaker, Village Idiot.

And pretty sure Trump checks those boxes as well.

The dude is basically a Kennedy Democrat. FFS.

I believe it was CS Lewis that said that Jesus was one of three things:

1. A liar
2. A lunatic
3. Exactly who he said he is (Son of God, Prince of Peace, etc)

I go with Option 3, myself.

Actually, Christ would be considered a right winger in todays TV political world IMO. Heck Dr. Martin Luther King would probably be looked upon as a Conservative Republican in today's politics. That's how far the needle has moved with the media in the last 50 years or so...IMO

I can name 20 Bible quotes right now from the New Testament that line up directly with Democrat policies. You'd be hard pressed to do the same for Republican policies.

I posted this in the other thread and you got silenced, so here we go again

The weather is not the climate. Every single weather event isn't bc of some sort of climate change. This is where a lot of you guys veer off into it being a religion. Is Jesus the son of God, is Muhammed the prophet, is hurricane climate change.

Is climate change real? Of course. I know that's the usual shut down of "believe science!" But none of you are scientists, neither am I.

I do know in this hurricane season it's slightly behind the avg of named storms this year...the difference tho, more have just happened to move over land this year. But the largest number of landfall hurricanes was in the 1800s. The most intense hurricane in Florida was in the 30s.

My point, science isn't a belief. And so your repeated behavior of shouting "science denier" when you aren't interested in science is no different than when a religious person gets their dogma tested.

It's a religion void of real conversation about the real issues of climate

BTW, this congressman produces less C02 than 99% of the population the way he lives especially compared to the jet hopper testifying here
hahahahahaha

The same "science dudes" that believe men can get pregnant, that babies in the womb are just "clumps of tissue," that electric cars cause less pollution than gas cars (they cause MORE), that a man who dresses in drag is exactly the same as a woman.

LOL these idiots.

You want to know the hilariously ironic thing about politics from JFK through NIxon?

The left adored JFK, and hated Nixon, but JFK governed essentially like a conservative Republican, and Nixon governed more like a liberal Democrat. It's just that people are too stupid to realize it.

Absolutely not. MLK was a socialist:

“I imagine you already know that I am much more socialistic in my economic theory than capitalistic… [Capitalism] started out with a noble and high motive… but like most human systems it fell victim to the very thing it was revolting against. So today capitalism has outlived its usefulness.”

And another since I consider myself a democratic socialist:

“Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all God’s children.”
