Spot on.
Repubs need to line somebody up for 2024 with Trump's business experience/savvy, but better bedside manner. Would be an unbeatable combination.
If things go relatively well, Trump gets reelected, trade deal gets done, a bi-partisan infrastructure bill goes through, etc...Pence could, and probably should be the guy.
Pair him up with a solid woman VP, and that would be a strong ticket.
Carly Fiorina - Former tech CEO, California rep...well traveled and versed in business
Kim Reynolds - Gov. Iowa...Her and Pence would lock down the breadbasket for two more cycles
Condi Rice - former National Security Adviser, Sec. State, Provost of Stanford...Her credentials and reputation are what they are. Well-liked and respected on both sides. Far enough removed from Bush years.
Outside of solid female candidates, I also like Mark Cuban. I think he's independent, but think he could make for a good running mate, cabinet member, and maybe even candidate down the road.
Really smart, business savvy guy who understands modern global economics, tech, etc.
I like Ben Carson. Brilliant dude, could and should have a bigger role in the healthcare discussion. Truly a caring individual. Has gained some experience in the political and policy world with HUD.
Crenshaw and Cotton are two rising stars with potential. Military backgrounds give them unique, intimate, and in-depth knowledge of general national security issues here on the homefront as well as abroad, specifically when it comes to the middle east and combating terrorism.
I'll put Romney in there as a longshot/dark horse. Not without his faults, but as a VP candidate I think they wouldn't be as big of a deal.
Checks the successful CEO/business and economics box.
He's moderate and likable enough to not lose and maybe gain some voters in the middle who were/are/will be put off by Trump.
Politically savvy enough to win different offices on opposite sides of the map in two very different political time periods/climates. The latter of which was nothing short of an extraordinary comeback after basically falling out of favor with his own party, being laughed off the stage, poo-pooed, and ultimately railroaded in the election.
