I agree with this. Trump is running and DeSantis is smart enough to not run against him.

I'm not of the mind that I think Trump could be beat in the election, unless they pull another rabbit out of their hat. It's that rabbit that scares the hell out of me. We all saw with Covid, the ends they will go to in order to keep Trump from running and/or winning. There is so much toxicity towards Trump by the left, that they will not hesitate to unleash a hellstorm like we've never seen before in order to keep power. That's what I fear with a Trump nomination. Desantis will draw his own hellstorm for sure, but probably to a slightly lesser degree.

Our Founding Fathers fought tooth and nail to break from tyranny and the whims of a king. They would roll over in their graves if Pence had refused to certify the count and only recognize the Trump electors. That is not what they ever intended....for one man to decide for millions of voters is insane.
The votes were already counted, certified and declared valid by the states. That was NOT Pence's job to overrule that process.
I am generally a Dem on voting but would absolutely vote for Pence, DeSantis or multiple other Republicans over Trump.
It has zero to do with Trump's policies but entirely because he doesn't believe in our Constitution or democracy....

I was actually in downtown Minneapolis this week - Sunday evening to yesterday morning. I saw a number of obviously homeless people and a few potentially dangerous characters, but I never felt like I was in any danger. Then again, the police were very present in downtown, presumably to protect visitor-tourists like me and the people who work there. The whole situation about George Floyd went through my mind a number of times…..but I certainly had no need nor the desire to go to that part of town.
How glorious would it be to have Trump and a Repub Congress in '24?
