Reads to me like an OC trying to scheme around a flawed OL. Very little inside zone. Anything between the tackles w/ a lead blocker or pulling OL on a counter to give a numerical advantage. Lots of screens and stuff to the outside.

Well I’d argue the inside runs were out of shotgun and mostly ineffective

But when we got under center felt like even inside tackle runs were fine enough

it’s obvious this OLine is a good step back from last few years. But Crod and we ran fine for most of game under center is what I saw

Why we didn’t take two shots with CRod from the 7 at least is a head scratcher. We damn near lead the nation in sacks allowed so we run a deep drop pass play from the 12 after the penalty? Stupid, stupid play calling.
You do realize the first pass was a TD, but Levis didn't let the receiver get set before the snap???

UK was able to run the ball some against Ole Mis 3-3 look. Things get compacted inside the 10. I'm not sure we could impose our will by running the ball in that situation.

We had a lot go wrong today. Missed FG, 2 missed extra points, 2 fumbles in the red zone, safety, ... plus we tripped ourselves on a kickoff return for a TD. Of all things that went wrong today, play calling was not one of them.

I absolutely realize what took place but also we went to a hurry up snap which isn’t our game and it showed with the penalty. There really was zero reason to be in a hurry there as we had over a full minute remaining following the completion to the 7.

Agree. I don’t know if the quick snap provided any advantage and the clock wasn’t an issue.

You're looking at ole miss stacking the box, bringing heat, and daring us to beat them with quick QB decisions. We couldn't. Haven't all year which is why we saw it all year and will from here on. OL is a big step down from last year but these defensive game plans are attacking the qbs inability to presnap id the blitz. His post snap reads are slow but ok (they still give him motion to id the coverage). Problem is the presnap read is so bad he doesn't realize when he needs a quick clock.

I know we like 12 and 13 personnel because of the te room. But....imo the answer is to line up 4 wide every time even if we shift back in. Spreading out makes it easier for will to get a look at potential blitzers. That way even if someone comes that we don't expect, they have alot further run to the QB so he has another beat to do something

NFL BS. Run the hall at least once and rush to the line to spike it to kick the (almost guaranteed) FG

Would not have even had to rush. Get your play calls in, line up and go. There was over a minute left when the ball was snapped on the penalty play. Assuming we did score no reason to score with a minute plus left on the play clock and them having 3 timeouts. Would have led at least with one CRod run on first from the 7 and see what we had to work with from there. Probably makes ole miss burn timeouts to save time to work with which gives us time to talk plays over. Even if they don’t call TO, then still plenty of time for us to run plays and kick game tying FG if needed. The rush to the line was a bad decision and unnecessary.
