While I’m glad to have him he looks like another athlete that can’t shoot. We’re gonna have a team full of those guys.
Aside from Sheppard and maybe Hart(if we can get him), you are probably right.
I would absolutely like more shooters.. I think we all would.
But this class might be like some of Cals past classes where we *may* be able to just out muscle teams more often than not. Where as some of our recent teams NEEDED 3pt shooting, to mask a lack of true playmaking across the board.. next years time might have that.
Of course it will ultimately turn into a 2010 WVU situation all over again. But Im high in this class. It's not just one top10 guy like last year with Cason. We have some premier guys, who I think will be good enough to win a lot of games.

Out-muscle the opponent? This is a completely different era from the 2010 John Wall team ... and that team had Cousins, Patterson, and Orton as far as frontline players goes.

So tired of that. Basketball is about two things, passing and shooting!
Sure, you need good defense here and there, but the other team is bound to score. As they can shoot over the defense. This isn't football where shutouts can happen regularly.
Of course there's always a place for a Rodman type (not a great scorer but played defense and rebounded). But you need at least 1 great shooter (your primary scorer) and that shouldn't always be your primary PG, as his job should be to create his own shot and score at will. You then need a couple of good shooters who are good at passing. This should be your PG and perhaps another G or SF. Then you need your bruisers. A strong athletic PF that is perhaps a good shooter but can get to the rim and play defense/grab rebounds. And of course, a big man at C to be the last line enforcer and grab rebounds/easy stuffs.
Everyone though should be able to handle the ball at a basic level and be able to shoot FTs, short shots. I'm tired of getting "athletic" dudes that have ZERO handle and have all the accuracy of a Stormtrooper.

At least he is still committing. He looks to have some skills to me. Kinda like Theiro was in year 1. He could be a diamond in the rough. He could end up being nothing but we need bodies and he has size at the very least.
If, and it a a big if that these dudes are like 2010-2017 level studs then yeah we could win some games and be tough. We still lack depth and shooting but as you said even with supposed shooting we still didn’t have it in games often. I figure a couple guys like Edwards and DJ will end up being serviceable from 3. Maybe someone develops like Theiro more than we think shooting. I think Adou can still be really good.
If Bradshaw can’t create from the perimeter at the 4 then stick this dude, Edwards, or Thiero there and go for it.

No they will not. Cal will get 2 more key players. One will join the media and fans are not seeing coming yet. No inside just a big guess of my own.

There aren’t any portal guys left and cal ain’t getting anybody from the portal, he has proven that this whole offseason. There gonna maybe add those 3 freshman. And have 9 freshman and no significant returnee. Will have little to none outside shooting and be extremely athletic, which is the cal special. It’s gonna be exactly like 2018
Believe he will have a plan. His reputation is on the line. This is still going to be the special season. You want it. I want it. We will get it. He will have a plan. He can't take away my expectations of this team. Trust me, not sure what will happen, but we will land a stud. He has to.
Hope is not a plan. I respect that you can still find belief in this program, cal has no plan outside these freshman, he won’t get a stud player because there aren’t any left

We will be playing 18-19 yr old kids vs 22-23 year old men. There will be no overcoming the experience and muscle.

The sad truth is its proven every year by how many mins and pts we return dictates how well we will do. This is Cals worse of all time I believe so not sure how to have a ton of hope.
I mean on top of that we aren't even getting any older portal guys. So hardly any mins and pts returned and no older players. Sounds like a receipe for disaster.

The Big Day is here. 3* announcing! Probably will be on campus soon, chomping the bit to get started. A four year guy who will be an experienced vet as a JR. and Sr. Just what UK needs. 1-2 guys like this every year and UK is going places. No need to transfer , where can he go and do better?
It could possibly turn out that way. Dukes Zion team that blew Kentucky out of the gym was the best class in awhile. But their defense and lack of outside shooting kept them out of the Final 4. Most experts think UK’s latest class can’t shoot 3’s either. If true, as soon as teams figure that out and pack the paint, it’s curtains.
You act like the entire team is below 30% 3P shooters lol Reed and Hart will be the best shooters on the team but if DJ/Rob/Edwards can shoot anywhere from 33-36% then I call that a win.
