There aren’t any portal guys left and cal ain’t getting anybody from the portal, he has proven that this whole offseason. There gonna maybe add those 3 freshman. And have 9 freshman and no significant returnee. Will have little to none outside shooting and be extremely athletic, which is the cal special. It’s gonna be exactly like 2018

you would think that ccc would feel the pressure and would have tried to get the best team that he could assemble. Yet he promises freshmen playing time & positions, avoids the portal like it is COVID and continues to think that he is invincible. He has potential to be really good.

I think a team trying to smartly build rosters needs at least 2-3 long-term program builders in each class, either high ceiling (e.g., long athletes) or high floor (e.g., solid skilled shooters or physical Bigs). Burks and Hart (like Thiero) may be that. If that's the way Calipari viewed these players, instead of desperation fillers, then I'm happy about potentially getting Burks and Hart.

It could possibly turn out that way. Dukes Zion team that blew Kentucky out of the gym was the best class in awhile. But their defense and lack of outside shooting kept them out of the Final 4. Most experts think UK’s latest class can’t shoot 3’s either. If true, as soon as teams figure that out and pack the paint, it’s curtains.

You act like the entire team is below 30% 3P shooters lol Reed and Hart will be the best shooters on the team but if DJ/Rob/Edwards can shoot anywhere from 33-36% then I call that a win.

First off, HS percentages rarely translate to a player’s freshman year percentages. Players usually have to adjust to the length, speed and athleticism in college and their shooting drops. Second, none of these guys are considered knock down shooters in HS except maybe Hart but do you expect him to play much? I don’t.

Agree that’s why if I’m cal I’m doing whatever reeves wants at this point, he is a good shooter and scorer and Kentucky needs him back, even thought he is probably long gone

There actually might be some positive news to this. On the KSR messageboard, someone commented that they have a buddy who has a source and said that Reeves might be back. Jack Pilgrim then commented that it looks more positive today than it did last week but nothing for certain. So things might be toss up. But Cal does need to try anything and everything to get Reeves back.
