Pilgrim on Oweh…

You're just going to ignore the first Bama game where he had 21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block?
That was earlier in the season when we had our full roster. We’re at the end of the season in crunch time and he hasn’t performed as well. We need more.

As long as the NIL pay raise is enough he should be back. I wonder how much he will expect as he has had a good season this year.

If the money is fair..... Most of the players have a rude suprise coming next year... These huge nil deals are going to be harder to come bye. With revunue sharing and the $600 clearing house. Can't stand what NIL and the instant transfer portal has done to college athletics.

He’ll come up with some weird way to move the goalposts again.
Moving goalposts? I specifically stated his production was off against Alabama and Auburn which is TOP COMPETITION. Oklahoma is in 3rd to last place in the SEC. What part about that is difficult to understand? I hope he does pick it up. We need him now more than ever.

While his shooting form isn't good by any means, there is none that comes close to MKG's who easily had the ugliest I've ever seen. I don't know how to post a pic or I would. Here is a link that has a pic in it though. And this was after, he had someone help him with his form.

Wayne Turner had the ugliest shot I've ever seen.

He won't be drafted so he's playing college in college next season. As long as that's here we're good to go.

More than 18 points in a row on the road? Man, tough crowd
Against 4-12 cellar dweller Oklahoma. And besides up until that 18 point spurt, which was remarkable, he was actually having a bad game. Coach Pope even mentioned it. He’s not
playing well. He’s committing dumb fouls like the one against Broome going for a rebound on the missed FT when he had no chance of getting it. He’s also making lazy passes like the one to Perry which Baker- Mazara stole for an AND1. That was a 5 point turnaround. It may be because of fatigue.

What point are you even trying to get to? This is a thread about Oweh returning…are you against bringing him back? Outside of that, this seems like the weirdest time to go on a rant about everything you dislike about Oweh

OK, how did he do against Duke, Florida, Tennessee twice, the other Alabama game, Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State?

Hard to take you seriously when you ignore the list of games I presented and just focus on the two bad games. Can’t fix those. But he also put up 21 the first game against Bama and you ignore that one so dunno. Seems like you are choosing to ignore available data.

I posted the available data. 4 points against Alabama, 4 points against Auburn. The first against Bama, Butler amd Robinson also played. Defenses weren’t keying on him. He’s a good player with great athleticism. He’s not great and there will be better options in the portal next year.

Otega will never play in the NBA! Shooting guards have to be able to shoot.

Not against bringing him back but there will be better options in the portal.
Maybe, maybe not. And the competition for portal players will be fierce. Bird-in-hand wouldn’t be the worst.
So any say “there will be better players available” No one has any idea who will, or will not, be available. Then you have to fight 25 other teams to land them. Going to be tough for Pope or any coach.

If you’re old enough to remember, Wayne turner’s form was on the level with MKG……the 3 ball for sure was hideous to watch.

Continuity is valuable. Just because there might be a more talented guy in the portal doesn’t mean we’d be more successful with that player instead of Oweh. Having returning guys in a system like Pope’s who already know it is very valuable for the program moving forward.

Crazy thing is it wasn’t that bad at Kentucky .

MKG was a great kid I was really pulling for his success . I think he lost his confidence once he got to the league too .
He had that one year, like 3 years in, where he started the season knocking down threes then immediately got hurt. Literally never fully recovered.

There will not be a better option at the 2 guard spot for Kentucky than Oweh. NBA talent will go into the draft, I wouldn’t take any other player that’s in the portal.

I think owehs form is ok. What seems to be the problem is he can't catch and shoot quickly. He rushes and his arms go all over the place. Get a moment to spot up, it's fine
Mercy. His form is nowhere near ok. Crosses the midline of his body. Ball is in front of his face. Release and follow through are flat. Basically his line is completely crooked and his elbow is outside his body. In short, it’s not ok form.

His from was worse in the pros after they messed with it, it wasn’t pretty but it was fluid at Kentucky. They jacked it up.

Oweh vs Alabama = 4 pts
Oweh vs Auburn = 4 pts

We need better production from him against top competition.
Unfortunately he was the only healthy perimeter player that could hurt a team and they key on him now too. Hes a good college player but he’s not Monk or someone who can dominate by himself.

You don’t know that. Oweh’s 6’4, Jeremiah Fears of Oklahoma is 6’4. If he were to hit the portal which has been rumored, I’d take him over Oweh all day.

oweh could be second rounder with good workouts...

He may leave...
I’ve got a better chance of bedding Rachel Bilson this evening than that happening. A couple of workouts aren’t going to change what NBA scouts already know and have seen the last couple years. I love OO and Hope like hell he’s at UK next year, but that dudes never playing in the NBA.

FWIW…I think he absolutely should go to the workouts. Why not?
