Charlie Strong was banned from a school in Cincinnati ohio a few years ago and the program has been just fine. This is just a case of a hs coach going on an ego trip.
Agree. I can't stand Petrino but Saban asked Christian Bell to grayshirt 3 days for NSD. The only difference is that Bell was okay with it. Saban also recently took a defensive lineman who had been kicked off Georgia for an ugly domestic violence incident. Of course, Louisville was interested in him too, although they will claim now that they weren't. It's time Saban quits getting a pass. A guy from bleacher report was on the Finebaum show Tuesday and gushed about Saban (called him the ultimate father figure) and even gushed about Saban's wife. I had to turn it off it was so sickening. Watching the Finebaum show is like listening to UofL talk radio. I guess the ultimate father figure recruits an accused felon for domestic violence to his campus.Originally posted by kyhusker2:
Can't stand Petrino, and I'm glad he's being called out for this, but it sure seems like Saban and Fisher are getting a pass here. Both asked committed kids to grayshirt at the last minute.
Think about if it was your son. He gets an offer from a P5 school. He gets commits and gets excited, buys a few hoodies and tells the world, etc... Then right before signing day, in the second semester of his senior year, he is told that he no longer has a scholarship and has to find a new school.Originally posted by C1180:
I know that there is a few recruits out there that honor their commits but the truth is most are just waiting for their next best offer to flip. In this atmosphere I will not get too excited if a school lifts an offer from some recruits if they find better ones to replace them. Verbal commitments have just about become a joke and are not worth the paper that they are not written on.
Check out your post on the national boards about a kid supposedly taking an offer list....Originally posted by LockdownCard:

You idiot Lou fans don't seem to understand the MAIN issue here. Is pulling a kids scholly after 8 months a crappy thing to do? Yes but it does happen from time to time and is unfortunate and not a great practice to follow, although Louisville is not the only school guilty here.Originally posted by LockdownCard:
Exactly a post from the national board where all football is discussed. It would be different if i came to the UK home board and disrespected your program.
Stoops was a missed interception from beating your butthole coach and team at your place this year. I love the fact that Petrino is being exposed nationally for the jerk that he is. it will make it that much easier when we are recruiting the same kids. Not that we aren't already beating UofL for recruits right now.Originally posted by LockdownCard:
Alot of ppl on this very board lobbied for petrino after joker was let go though but we're not going to get into that topic.
If this happened at any other school especially a sec school you guys wouldn't think to discuss it at all. Let alone have ten threads of the situation on the first page. Some of you are taking this harder than when Damien Harris duped you all for Alabama and i just cant understand the logic behind any of this.
Everybody know petrino is a piece of **** human being but when it comes to coaching stoops is a newborn compared to petrino and you all know it.
ill admit i was one that wanted him here! i made a mistakein judgement and i admitted it, humansmake mistakes but the key is learning from it! something UL hasnt done since the first time Petrino burned them! now im extremely happy that we didnt get him, and i learned he wanted to coach UK and practiclly begged for it and Barnhardt said not a chance in he**!Originally posted by LockdownCard:

And for the poster who said Louisville fans dont see the real situation, maybe you check my first or second post in this topic. Petrino was dead wrong for waiting last minute to notify the player that he would be greyshirted. He never once snatched the kids scholly. What part of that dont you comprehend man?
Like i said before the Tcu kid shouldn't have been a priority just because he fits a neef for the team. The kid and his hs coach were so hell bent on making a public spectacle because of some hurts feelings that they were to impatient to see home national signing day would play out. Ironically we had the Redwine kid who flipped us for Miami. At the end of the day the kid would've had that scholly instead of greyshirting. All and all i wish the kid nothing but good luck.

I am one that thinks a commitment should be a commitment and not just a thing of convenience. This holds true for both parties. If you are only committing if you don't receive an offer from such and such you should make that clear when you commit . A school should tell recruits they might be asked to grey shirt if that is a possibility. Get the picture both parties in this game are guilty of deception. Neither should commit if there is doubt.Originally posted by kyhusker2:

That scenario is ok with you because a small percentage of high school kids flip late in the recruiting season?
