Perry is making huge progress as season goes on

Noah seems to have a lot of Deron Feldhaus and Darius Miller in his game if I’m looking for other in state Ky guys who blossomed at UK. Sure there are others

Hope he and Perry continue to grow. Will like watching those 2 develop. Adding a few more in staters over the next couple years.

I really like the way he handled the ball too.

I don’t really know what Pope is planning to do next year as Perry should have the backup PG slot locked up but he also has Lewis coming in, who may not be able to handle the starting role right away either.

Maybe he lets Johnson and Lewis handle the 2 guard spot.

Perry has impressed me on defense. He might be a bit undersized, but he's tricky when he gets into passing lanes and he was able to stay in front of Mississippi State guards pretty well.

I'm happy for him. Hoping he has many more minutes next year.

@Son_Of_Saul said Perry/Noah/Chander will never be in the rotation. Gotta believe at least 1 of them will be.
Right now Perry was slotted at the #3 pg, Chandler as the #3 sg, & Noah as both the #3 sf & maybe even small ball pf. Kerr’s injury is giving Perry opportunity. These guys will play significant minutes when ready and there’s not so many upper classmen above them. Any experience they can get is a plus and injuries are lefty Perry play. He’s doing a good job imo.

Showing much more confidence.
Yeah really just seems to be he's adopted the attitude that he's not gonna play scared. You can see that just in his ball handling. He's not shying away or looking to get rid of the ball before someone gets close to him. He's bringing it up with purpose and confidence and starting to do the same with his shot when he gets a rare open look. Confidence is the number one thing in sports, just frees up whatever talend is underneath it all.

Good passer as well. Ball handling and particularly his dribbling has improved from going against Butler. Pure stroke.
Old guys will remember this he moves and shoots like Louie Dampier.
Calm head and growing. High bball iq.
Nerves are slowly going away.

Never going to be a shut down defender but what he lacks there he will make up in other areas.
We’ve had a lot of pgs thru the years like that. Macy Harden Epps Knight Dampier Wall Meeks Ford on and on.

Not many have the whole package.
Shoots like Dampier? They are about 6'0'' to maybe 6'1'' and his stroke is pure like Louie's. It would be great if he turned into Dampier 2.0, but the game has changed so much since Louie played. There is always room for smart shooters though and even Reed said that shooting wise he couldn't shoot with Perry. Not sure I believe that, but Perry can definitely fill it up.

I think Johnson and Oweh will be the starting backcourt unless Pope uses a 3 guard lineup. Everybody is calling JJ a 2 guard because he can shoot and score and he's 6'4" but in the videos I saw he looked like he had a great handle and I could see him as a point in Pope's offense.

That means we need to recruit a stud starter SF.

I love that he's coming in and playing with confidence. He values the ball and is not afraid to take a big shot to spread the floor. He can't help that he gets abused by the refs (hook and discard called as a foul on him), and that'll improve with time and minutes.

I have been a show me the money, not your press clippings and where you're from, hard ass on Perry when he didn't perform well and shot tight in first third of season, he's actually doing much better and has hit the shots he's taken with more confidence. He's playing like he belongs here and I don't wince when he comes on the floor anymore.

I thought Wall was at least closer to the whole package. Just not a great outside shooter. Wall was one of my favorites, and I’ve been watching since I was probably 5. I loved Rondo and Ulis too. Ulis was special in that he had that toughness and vocal leadership. Heck he had a better offensive mind than Cal even while he was in college.

Louie Dampier was the first great 3-point shooter, in the ABA for the Kentucky Colonels. He was ahead of his time, and is probably one of the guys from the 60s (Issel and Cotton Nash included), who could play today. I still say we should switch to the red, white and blue basketball, so beautiful to see the rotation.
