Always felt, if guys like Travis Ford, Richie Farmer and Patrick Sparks were able to make a name for themselves at this level, then certainly Perry and Noah can as well.
I’ve been seeing improvement defensively, too.Perry has impressed me on defense. He might be a bit undersized, but he's tricky when he gets into passing lanes and he was able to stay in front of Mississippi State guards pretty well.
I'm happy for him. Hoping he has many more minutes next year.
Right now Perry was slotted at the #3 pg, Chandler as the #3 sg, & Noah as both the #3 sf & maybe even small ball pf. Kerr’s injury is giving Perry opportunity. These guys will play significant minutes when ready and there’s not so many upper classmen above them. Any experience they can get is a plus and injuries are lefty Perry play. He’s doing a good job imo.@Son_Of_Saul said Perry/Noah/Chander will never be in the rotation. Gotta believe at least 1 of them will be.
Yeah really just seems to be he's adopted the attitude that he's not gonna play scared. You can see that just in his ball handling. He's not shying away or looking to get rid of the ball before someone gets close to him. He's bringing it up with purpose and confidence and starting to do the same with his shot when he gets a rare open look. Confidence is the number one thing in sports, just frees up whatever talend is underneath it all.Showing much more confidence.
Shoots like Dampier? They are about 6'0'' to maybe 6'1'' and his stroke is pure like Louie's. It would be great if he turned into Dampier 2.0, but the game has changed so much since Louie played. There is always room for smart shooters though and even Reed said that shooting wise he couldn't shoot with Perry. Not sure I believe that, but Perry can definitely fill it up.Good passer as well. Ball handling and particularly his dribbling has improved from going against Butler. Pure stroke.
Old guys will remember this he moves and shoots like Louie Dampier.
Calm head and growing. High bball iq.
Nerves are slowly going away.
Never going to be a shut down defender but what he lacks there he will make up in other areas.
We’ve had a lot of pgs thru the years like that. Macy Harden Epps Knight Dampier Wall Meeks Ford on and on.
Not many have the whole package.
Would love for this to be true but I don’t think it will be.Perry will be lethal next year. He’s already starting to develop that killer mentality.
I think Johnson and Oweh will be the starting backcourt unless Pope uses a 3 guard lineup. Everybody is calling JJ a 2 guard because he can shoot and score and he's 6'4" but in the videos I saw he looked like he had a great handle and I could see him as a point in Pope's offense.I really like the way he handled the ball too.
I don’t really know what Pope is planning to do next year as Perry should have the backup PG slot locked up but he also has Lewis coming in, who may not be able to handle the starting role right away either.
Maybe he lets Johnson and Lewis handle the 2 guard spot.
That means we need to recruit a stud starter SF.I think Johnson and Oweh will be the starting backcourt unless Pope uses a 3 guard lineup. Everybody is calling JJ a 2 guard because he can shoot and score and he's 6'4" but in the videos I saw he looked like he had a great handle and I could see him as a point in Pope's offense.
This. Didn't take long for the internet keyboard warriors to start pining for their KY Boys even if it means losing more games.
@UKWildcats1987 @moses1uk can we get an update?Perry lol. He will make Kerr look like a all-americian
