We know that Forde stated, upon Cal’s hiring, that he would get Cal fired. Go back and read some of Forde’s stuff in the 2009 - 2012 time frame. Remember the Eric Bledsoe didn’t graduate high school, AD’s parents were paid $100K, etc.? At the time, Forde was in tight with Jurich and Pitino. If cal tried to get him fired, it was justifiable payback.

"industry insider" = someone that works in the entire NBA industry, which isn't small, who just speculated and then told Forde his speculation.
If Forde's "source" in the "industry" knew more, he'd have provided more. As in "what makes this person believe this is the case?".
Stevens is the GM of the best team in the NBA. They are chasing a championship. I doubt he has given the UK job one second of thought..who starts this nonsense..I expect to see Pat Riley's name bantered about.

Stevens is one of the greatest basketball minds to never win anything. If that passion for coaching is still in there somewhere, he could come to the greatest program, have all the tools and resources, and have 20+ years left to build his legacy and become rich rich rich.

I don’t think it will happen, but here’s the case. He is still a very young man who got very close to a championship. After being away for a while, is there not a part of him thinking, “I could win multiple titles at UK. Yes, it’s a different set of headaches, but I could be remembered as one of the legendary coaches of all time”.
