CNM is in bad need of a great pitching coach AND a seasoned ex HC that can help him with game strategy.
Starting Niman who has been rocked in every start for the past 5-6 weeks is inexcusable for a HC at this level.
Then, allowing him to stay in after walking a man, giving up an 0-2 base hit and then hitting a batter before walking in a run is beyond belief.
WM batted around in the 5th., had 8 batters in the 6th, 9 in the 7th, and bases loaded in the 9th inning.
Our bull pen is helpless and hopeless. We are one ace starter and one closer away from being a World Series contender........and a little better coaching strategist, especially in handling this mediocre pitching staff..

Metal bats on average add about 5-8mph of additional exit velo vs wooden bats if I remember correctly. It’s definitely a major contributor.
Good pitching still beats good hitting 99% of the time.
We have the worst relievers for a top seed that I have ever seen. And really don't have a real ace starter.
Pooser is the closest thing we have as a top level pitcher.

The bullpen is not good. I haven’t followed it until about a month ago but I think that’s why Mangini sticks with the starters too long.
