OT The Hit King is dead

Pete Rose dead at 83.

My Dad in 1975 took the fam from Shepherdsville to Cincinnati and I saw the BRM.

Rose was my hero ever since.

RIP Charlie Hustle
Same here. For those of us who grew up around here in the 60s and 70s he was iconic and losing him is like losing a part of the family. He wasn’t Pete Rose to us , he was just Pete, one of us.

And the thing that made the connection to Pete even stronger for me was he was the hometown kid made good and he represented the kid in all of us. So losing him is like the end of my childhood in a lot of ways - and im 62!

One of the greatest ever as a player, not the brightest bulb in the pack but he sure could play. Nobody that bet on games he was managing should ever be in HOF, just my opinion.
