IMO, everything start and stops with the big fellows on both sides of the ball. What's everyone think about talent, depth and rotations. I know, there's a lot of unknowns, but snow & ice days are boring.

On defense I think we have talent and a lot more on the way, although we'll be young in spots. Offense is anyone guess.

I think the offense will be better than the defense but not great. A lot of youth and inexperience on the defense. This defense could be one of Stoops worst.

Offensive line will have to be better, honestly they couldn't be much worse. The defensive line will probably take a step back, they were really pretty good last year until the lack of offence wore them out. I dislike saying it but I am not looking forward to next season. It could play out as a Colorado redo of the roster and in the SEC that is a recipe for disaster

Offense went from

Mincey
Farmer
E Cox
Burton
M Cox

to

Wollshlaeger ((Bowling Green)
Farmer
Wibberly(WKU)
Braun (Ark)
Unamba (New Mexico)

Its nearly impossible to truly predict if this Olne will be appreciably better than 2024 Oline. Outside of "they can't stink any worse" is all well and good but not exactly how you evaluate football.

I can believe Josh Braun and Wollschlaeger will be better at RG and RT. Braun has been SEC guard performing at higher level than Burton ever has. Wollshlaeger has a MAC kid but his accolades (albeit MAC level) are solid.

I can't make a case that Wibberly will be better then Eli Cox.....that is just hard leap to make. Unamba is a very question mark/unknown as well.

The feeling that our bookend tackles will adjust to protecting to our QB in the most talented pass rushers in college.....is not a good feeling to me. And finally, Wolford did a 'meh' job at Bama with elite talent and crappiest unit on roster last year for UK.

The offensive line would need to practice to get worse.

The D line won't matter until we decide to have a mor aggressive defense.
From the looks of things, after the season end, dissatified offensive players, immaturity/lacadasical efforts caused a cancer that affected the whole team. Therefore, hopefully with a plethra of new talent and those wanting to be at UK, maybe the offense will surprise this year. The defense has to play anywhere near the snaps it did last year it'll be a lon year. Actually, with Hayes coming back healthy and new quality portal talent, along with good young talent, I don't see a big drop on D. If one of the new Edges excel we could ve realky good on D.

Agree with much of your assessment. I can't agree about Eli. Once he moved to C, he was not very good, imo. I know he got some accolades here and there but I saw multiple plays nearly every game where he whiffed or got pushed back 5 yards or didn't actually block anyone while a ball carrier got stuffed at the LOS. Our short yardage attack went right over his area almost exclusively and we never seemed to get any push. Wibberly may not be all that good but I doubt we'll miss Eli much.

I watched almost every bowl game and keyed on the defenses and just shook my head when I compared them to ours. We are so vanilla and predictable it’s frightening.

I have been saying for years that the OL can't be worse than the past 4 years they have increasing gotten worse.

Eli Cox has been terrible the past two seasons. He was responsible for a lot of the internal pressure on the QB. I watched film on Wibberly and he an upgrade. He moves better, more athletic.

I thought the same thing. Seemed like most of the good teams were like we are coming GL hitting anything deep. Most of the QBs had to hit something fast.

The OL is being rebuilt. Wibberley, Farmer, Braun, and Wollschlaeger are probably starting. Chances are a new LT gets brought in after the spring if not sooner. Malachi Wood is still around and is serviceable if not experienced. Burton has to fight for his job. Let's see if the new QB has what it takes. Maybe he does.

With Olds, Watson, and Gusta, the defense should be alright. It would be good to add Grace. Stoops has some young defensive players with potential pushing to see the field. Godfrey, Robinson, Nichols, Scott, Dooley, all the Smiths.

Depth and the quality of it along with Coaching will decide KY’s season. Have little faith in Stoops and the staff, hope I’m wrong.

I'll say it again. In todays climate coaching has to be a diffrerence maker. They just have to get better and be better at teaching, motivating, and game planning and play calling. Just that simple. Dont talk about the players, get better yourselves and see if that doesnt win you a couple more games.

We blitzed more this year than all of the other years and our defense wasn't any more productive than those years. One could argue that it is the worst one we have had under Stoops except the first three years.

It appears the O line went up significantly, though impossible to know how the unit will play together and it would seem the D line dropped off a bit, though not disturbingly so.
