Only three players being recognized out of sixty six for all sec?

All 5 of Bama's OL were named including the Vandy transfer. They were bad last year and you know the Vandy kid wouldn't have made it if he stayed at Vandy. I think Bowers and Gilbert are the 2 best TE in the SEC. Gilbert wasn't mentioned.
Bowers is the young dude you guys got right? He’s the best TE in the country, IMO. That kids a stud.

Thanks, he had a great frosh year, Gilbert is a transfer and was frosh AA at LSU. Not as fast, but mu h more physical and bigger than Bowers but same level athlete, just different skills.

The Vandy kid had a lot of bad tape. Yes, he played for Vandy, but it's not like he was stone walling people. Good size, bad feet.

Kinda like the other 2 transfers. The RB and WR. They all can't be amazing.

The WR came from us, no way is he first team All SEC with us, but he is talented guy and might deserve it at season's end. The RB is fast, and he might deserve it at the end too, but not pre season when he hasn't touched the ball in an SEC game.

60 players so 14 teams =just over 4 per team on ave, now Cats are expected to be in the upper parts of the SEC so you would think we would get a bit more than ave but still, not all that far off! Also, much of our talent is still a little young Ox for example, so we know what they are capable but it's pretty much unproven.

Folks, chill out.

We are the 3rd/4th best team in the SEC, but lack standout players.

Testimony to the overall team balance built by our Coaches??

I expect to get a sunburn at a Bowl game on Monday, January 2nd, or so.

And I expect we will then have 5-8 players receive post-season All SEC accolades!!

Did you notice those plaques and trophies handed out for pre-season mention?

I think the only hardware handed out is post-season, and all pre-season ish is to promote ticket sales.

Who are our players that folks think should've been included ??
I do not have deep enough personnel knowledge to know who they would be.
Thanks, in advance.
GO CATS !!

I have not looked at who got mentioned, but here is my list.

Levis. Sure, it’s arguable if he deserves it, but a returning 10-3 QB is a nice thing.

Crod. If you lead the SEC in rushing you should be first team.

Cox. Here is a tough one: we all know who will anchor our BBW, and his strength and quality, but with one partial season and no recruiting history/stories, who else knows about him?

Jaquez Jones: The man is a baller, but there are “sexier” picks throughout the SEC.

Ajian . . . if for no other reason, the man is 37 years old.

Weaver: he had huge plays in big SEC games last year.

Square!

Our LB core could be the best in the country with: Square, Weaver, Wright, Wallace and Jones.

I think they will be, but honestly, it almost takes insider knowledge to know how good they are.

Let’’s be bluntly honest: other than Crod, Levis and Wan Dale, our other hero’s were not standouts, head-and-shoulders above the other UK players.

Hell, it really is simply a broad spread of talent.

From what little I have seen of Bowers while I think he came in as a four star I think he should be a six star. And yes, I know they only go to five stars.

Jackson will be the eye opener this year. Recovered from a torn Achilles and played just a few months later. Even at least than 100% was noticably better than square.

Expect huge things from him this year. In fact I think he will take one of those starting spots from a super senior before the year is out.

Excited to see UGA utilize both these guys. How do you feel about wide receivers and OL?

I am not trying to minimize our optimism for the up coming season but I guess realizing the coaching challenge to establish starters and backups necessary to accomplish our goals.
Keep in mind we lost a lot of the guys from last year that were recognized stars. A lot of the guys we have moving into the starter roles are guys that we are justifiably high on, but the rest of the league wouldn't know their name yet. Only 2 of our 5 starting OL were starters a year ago. None of our expected top 3 WRs caught a pass from a UK QB a year ago. We have 3 new starters on the DL. And only 2 returning starters in the secondary.

that doesn't hold water, when Bama has 17 listed, UT with 7, hell SCjr has more than us

No disrespect but the TE at Notre Dame, Michael Mayer is the best in the country but Bowers is not far behind. I was in the visitor section last year for the UK v UGA game and the third quarter touchdown Bowers had was beautiful. Perfect wheel route up the right sideline with Corker running in his hip pocket, I thought there was no way in hell he would get to that ball but he did.

Rumor is we going to use alot of 3 TE sets, the incoming frosh looked good in the spring, was leading receiver. We have Jackson who is our PR returning, not fast but built like a RB, McConkey had near 600 yds as a rs frosh, Blaylock is back, but has missed 2 seasons with torn ACLs. I expect the leading WR to be Mitchell, big WR With good hands, and 2 blazers, 1 an AA in track Eran a 10.1 100m, the 2nd is a frosh that ransub 10.3. I expect Bowers to be our leading receiver and Gilbert to be 2nd. Add that to us rotating so many guys no one is going to light it up.

Disagree and everyone in the country other than ND fans do also because stats don't bear that out. The only one is number of receptions, Mayer had 70, Bowers had 59. Bowers average 4 more yards per catch and 13 to 7 TDs, had more total yards. But it comes down to this. You can cover Mayer with a LB, a LB has no shot covering Bowers
