I think perspective is everything. Both of our programs lost to EXCELLENT teams. I understand UK’s expectations are greater than ours, but that doesn’t change the fact those two Alabama programs are on heaters.

I think a positive to draw from is the competitive nature of both of our programs. They fight like hell until the end 99% of the time. That shows the character of a program which will loom large mid to late season.

The SEC is also pure insanity. The expectation for most should be to expect an all out war each outing. It has to truly be a game by game approach. Can’t get caught looking at the entirety of the schedule and trying to figure out what will happen. That’s next to impossible.

Should be a fun year with lots of ups and downs. Probably a lot of programs within 2-3 games of each other at the end.

Peace

Nothing to hang our heads about today.

Great take, and thanks for stopping by Gdawg! Always nice to see your comments here.

Happy the Bulldogs are having a good year. It sure has been entertaining to watch everything unfold this year. May we meet in the Final Four !

Lots of parity around the country. Uconn loses again, Marquette. Iowa State. Tennessee misses a free throw to lose by one. Auburn wins by two.
Houston barely survives UCF.

Basketball is wild this year.
Yeah but UConn keeps losing to terrible teams, yet everyone still has them as a high seed, high ranking and a top 10 favorite to win the title. People talk about our defensive issues, but UConn is even worse and it isn’t even a topic. This site talks about the Duke glazing but that pales in comparison to the UConn glazing

That happens when you are back to back National Champions like UConn and Hurley have done.

We used to have that level of gravitas. Ranked in the top 5 every year, even with a new team and often after suffering bad losses to bad teams.

When you win the big one, you get a lot of the benefit of the doubt when you lose a game.

When you fall out of that group ( like we did under Cal the past 5 years) you have to fight like the devil to gain that respect back for the program.

EVERY LOSS is scrutinized and will cause a fall in your rankings. Not so, if you are considered a top contender.
