***** Official Kentucky - Alabama Game Thread *****

Do you guys honestly not know the hand is part of the ball on a dunk attempt like that? I'm not being sarcastic.

From the NCAA rulebook:

It shall be legal for a defender to accidentally hit the hand of a ball handler when reaching to block or slap the ball when there is player control with that player’s hand in contact with the ball and when that player is:

a. A dribbler;
b. Attempting a try for field goal; or
c. Holding the ball.

Williams had control of the ball and was attempting a field goal.
Smack a 3 point shooters hand when he goes up and tell me what happens.

You keep making excuses as the guards keep driving to the basket for layups. We are talking about layups. Bama is up 7 at the half while only making three 3-pointers.
Yea his offense numbers are good, but you have to take into account him getting beat constantly on D. He’s given up numerous layups.

alabama just 2-13 from 3. not sure if this is a good sign or bad being down 7 lol.
I mean looking at it from our side we are missing 3 key players, Oweh missed most of the half , and so did Carr. So I guess you could say dang for us to only be down by 7 is crazy!

What about the mouth against an elbow? What does the book say there?
it doesn’t matter. whatever the rule interpretation, and no matter how many times we can be wrong and whining, it won’t change the fact that it won’t be evenly called if the tiles were reversed. if we were defending the hand/block call they’d just say “well, he got him on the hand”.

Accidentally would be going for a block on the ball and accidentally hitting the hand. This isn't some niche rule that never gets called. It's incredibly common.

The rule is exactly the same in the NBA and happens all the time.

Again, define hand. Is the wrist part of the hand? What about forearm? Is that part of wrist and part of hand?

That was a foul. You are being obtuse.

This game is so frustrating. Bama keeps leaving the door open and we don't take advantage of it.

On fast break Brea was held twice and no call.
