Official Game Thread: Kentucky vs. Louisville 12-14-24

You might dislike them as I do. but you have to give the Cards credit for their effort. They really showed a lot of heart. However, I am glad we stepped on it before giving it back to them.
Agree completely…they played a helluva game
Hepburn is a guy id have loved to have on our team
But dayum..Butler is definitely back

Over and over. I love the win but this lackadaisical attitude has to stop.
I have noticed it too. There is a general sense of lackadaisical approach that is troubling. It is not an all-the-time thing, as they do sometimes show some hustle, but it's crazy how many times a loose ball or rebound will be right there and our guys just watch it or slowly go for it. I don't get it.

I don't think we were THAT bad on defense.

A team shooting 28% from 3 on the season came in and hit a bunch more than 28% of their threes lol.

Just another reminder that 3s are always more random than 2s.

I didn't get to see much of the second half but lots of those 3's Louisville hit I don't see what else we could've done. We were right on guys or making them take some long 3's when the clock was winding down and they went in. When a team is doing that to you, you can't do much about it. It wasn't like we were getting outmanuevered and running into screens and guys were wide open for a few seconds to shoot (which happened under Cal a lot).

If there's a silver lining, a team shot above their percentage on us from 3 and we still won.

We've got to do better at getting shooters open. We were lighting them up from 3 and then let UL dictate our offense. That's been happening a lot lately and why our shooting had been struggling from 3 (Butler saved us today). We didn't get a lot of good looks like we gave UL after they started getting out on us. That kept them in the game.

I think it's just certain guys too.

Two players Garrison
1) He knocks the ball off Hepburn and gives us a possession. PURE EFFORT
2) But that that one ball they called the foul on him where he let that guy just dive in to get it

Williams
One play towards the end I dunno what he was doing but he didn't even challenge the shot. He backed away.
The previous game the jump ball at the start, didn't even jump LOL.

I dunno lol
