I am one of Reeve’s greatest critics. But this is the kind of game he needs to play. 13 points on 8 field goal attempts and he’s only taken two threes.

This is exactly what we need from him. No hero ball. We can live with his atrocious defense. If a game ends with him as the leading score, it should happen naturally rather than through him taking 20 shots.

Our defense still not great but dramatically improved since last ‘exhibition’. Boards are absolutely wide open. We don’t have enough physical presence to block out effectively. I miss Oscar so bad.

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again - if Mitchell gets more PT than Thiero when a big or two starts playing - that’s not good for UK winning basketball games.

He is a terrible defender. Probably the worst on the team. He doesn’t rebound. The shots he hits in the paint are shots that anyone on our roster can hit. When he’s not making his wide-open threes, he is a liability. On the year he’s now at 33.3% from deep. He is a good passer, and he has four assists in this game, but he also tends to make selfish plays rather than pass to the cutter or to a better three-point shooter.
