Yesterday one of the players offered by the Kentucky coaching staff was Amari Burney, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver from Central Catholic High School in Clearwater, Fla. He's a Class of 2018 prospect which makes his advanced physical stature and athleticism all the more impressive.
This one will be an uphill climb as Auburn, Florida, Louisville and Miami have already offered as well. Good chance Burney will have offers from everybody before it's all said and done. Still, his offer goes to once again underscore the wide net approach Kentucky's taking in Florida. And it doesn't matter who you don't sign; all that matters is who you do sign. The wide net isn't meant to snag a dozen commitments but just a few you feel good about.
