Odds on the first coach that gets fired

I say that is about right. I am surprised Pittman made it to now, but with backstabber Bobby on staff I think he is mid-season fired. With UF and Miami playing week 1, I think they are playing for head coach's job. Billy has 2 losing seasons already, almost all UF fans expecting 8 wins and may are expecting 10 and playoffs, if he loses to Miami all that is out the window and they are calling for change. I dot really know what the U is expecting, but no more embarrassing I i like team one with GT. I think some others on the list gets fired, but at the season

I think Pittman is first to be fired. I don't understand it but Arkansas loves Petrino.

Chuck Lea makes it too the end of season BUT is fired because Vandy is Vandy.

Cristobal has 8yrs/$62mm left on his contract. That would be a fool's bet. They do not have money like most football schools and their only big donor is under federal investigation for securities violations. Pittman's seat is warm, but they love him, so I wouldn't expect them to pull the plug early. Vandy won't either. I'd argue Napier is a value pick at 4/1. If they lose to Miami in game 1, they will fall apart and he'll be fired after UT or UK beats them and I'll be in Gainesville for that game.

Cant believe Napier made it. He is a bad loss away from fired imo. If uk wins that game again, id say its over for him.

Don't know if you can read their site or not, but the are counting UK as a win already. I read that and scratch my head and think UK has physically beat UF's brains in 5 of last 6 years and on a 2 game streak, how is that an automatic win? But they have some insiders constantly reporting how great they are looking and 10 wins is a sure thing. BUT Billy loses all support if they lose the opener to Miami, they are expecting to win that one by 20.

Miami, from the things I've read, is supposed to be pretty good. Cristobal is a good coach, imo, so UF is not a sure thing winner in that game. Most predictions for the Gators is around 5 wins. Haven't seen a single one that think they have anything other than a huge longshot chance at the playoffs.

Unless Cristobal has a loosing record, he isn't getting fired. With the buyout, as mentioned above, they probably still wouldn't fire him. The U is on track to sign the best class they have had in 2 decades.

They still cant get over the fact we're as good. I remember last year after the domination their entire fanbase couldn't believe they lost.

Now granted this year its in the swamp and it will be tough but i saw nothing from Napier's schemes that caused me any concern whatsoever.

UF's won like 17 of the last 20 vs TN if they can continue that, beat Miami then UK that'll put out the Napier flames. First fired is Pittman, surprised he survived '23.

Not surprising. On their site some UofL fans still refer to us as LPT (Louisvilles Play Toy) even though we lead in the series and have dominated lately.

If Napier loses to us again, that’s four straight losses, that will be his death knell.

I think we all agree that 2 of the hottest seats are Napiee and Pittman and Lea is not far behind in SEC. But one name not there but should be is Beamer at Carolina. Another non bowl season and his seat is hot, but another win over Clemson would buy him a couple years.

I realize it’s kind of pointless to argue about hypotheticals like this, but I guess I’m going to do it anyway.

In what world is Dabo Swinney more likely to get fired this season than Deion Sanders? I get that people may be grumbling about Dabo’s refusal to adjust to things like the transfer portal, but it seems to me that Sanders is at the point where he has to start delivering. Clemson would have to be absolutely atrocious for Dabo to get fired and that just seems unlikely to me.

My only guess at it would be historical expectations... Dabo has proven Clemson could win big somewhat recently. Yes, it was his staff that took them there, but regardless of who took them, the fanbase got a test of that success.

Compare that to Deion at Colorado...when was the last time they were REALLY relevant at a national level? Last conference championship was 2001 in the Big 12. So, I agree Deion must start producing at some point, but he is in year 2. Even though the portal allows a quicker rebuild, he realistically probably still has thru 2025 before his seat gets crazy hot... granted, if they go 4-8 again this year, he may be fighting for his job entering 2025

Shane beamer might be the steal of this.
If (when) we beat them they have absolute murderers row after.
They get Us, LSU, the fighting kiffins, Bama, Mizzou, Oklahoma, and A&M back to back. With a game against Akron, and vandy at the start and end. Take a game off playing wofford then get Clemson.

I realistically see. 7 losses likely with 8 losses very possible.

Yeah...I can't see how he survives that. Especially since he's one of the biggest d-bags out there.

What happens if a coach "resigns under pressure"? Does the bettor still collect, if everyone known said coach was really fired?

My first guess was Billy Napier. As a UK fan, I would donate money to Florida if it would help keep him.
They will most likely screw it up again. Since Spurrier, they have hired the following guys:

Ron Zook
Urban Meyer
Will Muschamp
Jim McElwain
Dan Mullen
Billy Napier

Like death and taxes, every year Miami is supposed to be good but haven't been relevant in 20 years, I don't see that changing this year either.
Deion at 50-1 is interesting because I think he is completely secure against being fired this year due to on-field performance but it's the off the field stuff, saying something politically incorrect, player/coach/admin complaints where he has put himself in the cross hairs more than most coach's.
