How they got in with a 1-12 record against Quad One opponents over West Virginia who went 7-10 vs Q1 is beyond me. Then Louisville which made the ACC Final got an 8 seed? Where is the logic here? Whatever I guess. Big name and all that. Kentucky,Michigan State, UCLA,Duke,Kansas and North Carolina will always get that benefit. Indiana used to get that as well but obviously their name doesn't carry the same cache..

It's just suspicious when their AD is the chairman of the selection committee. I know he has to be out of the room when his program is being discussed, but.....

If Kentucky went 1-10 in quad 1 even this year we wouldn’t have gotten in. I don’t think so.

I wonder if they got in because they took Duke to the wire in the ACC Championship. 🤣 “Oh, you almost beat Duke! Surely you would beat others…” 😂🤢 I’ve seen the committee make silly decisions like that before. Almost beating a team one time shouldn’t cause them to abandon their rules or principles. With those two teams, the committee almost always make exceptions to the norms and that should bother the rest of us.

Heres one of the few exceptions where i am pulling for the SEC team

Ole Miss - buckle down, Dangit
I usually take a lot of flak from people for not being a SEC guy but in my 50+ years on this earth I have watched a lot of SEC teams openly root against UK in tournaments and bowl games. I have watched fans of other SEC schools who were playing in the same building as UK root against us and for the other team. So why would I ever root for them?

The funnier part to me is UNC fans reveling in the role of being the one everyone is talking about not deserving … and thinking that the play in win justifies them.

The Carolina Way sure has taken a hit in gravitas.

There are occasions when i do
Definitely not "all in" for SEC teams

I have strange proclivities for rooting interests sometimes

I will stop there before yall disown me

But i deeply despise UNC so - go Rebs

blow em out and make it uncomfortable for the announcers somehow

One reason.

With that stupid Marriott commercial with the UNC band on an endless loop at every break, it's plain to see why UNC got in now. But they did play lights out in that play-in game. They haven't played a defense like Ole Miss all year, and they can't shoot like that two games in a row.

Kentucky always gets the benefit? Lol yeah totally OP. NOT!

Surprised no one else saw that in his rant. Probably a UL fan. UL wasn't even worthy of an 8 seed after blue smacked that butt yesterday OP.
Don't know where you pulled that out of. But I might suggest you attended Louisville with that take of yours. I'll clear it up for you little birdie. Kentucky is a blue blood like North Carolina, if things are all even or maybe even tilted in the odds of a non blue blood like West Virginia, I would understand Kentucky getting the nod. North Carolina wasn't close and the fact Louisville had a better season but got a pretty low seed shows that the ACC wasn't seen as a juggernaut.

So tell me the reason North Carolina got the nod if not for the name on the front. As far as Kentucky getting preferential treatment, I can't think of a Wildcat team that would've gotten in based off the '24-'25 Tar Heel season.

I don't think there is a team I want to win more than Ole Miss today (AFTER UK of course).

I remember seeing people using the citing that they (UNC) went 8-2 in their last 10 games, and both those losses were against the #1 NET team Duke. Yeah, that sounds impressive...until you look at who those 8 wins were against. In order by date, those 8 wins were vs (NET ranking):
133 - @ Syracuse (Q2 barely)
132 - vs NC St (Q3)
110 - vs UVA (Q3)
90 - @ FSU (Q2)
225 - vs Miami (Q4)
167 - @ VaTech (Q3)
103 - vs ND neutral court (Q3)
69 - vs WF neutral court (Q2)
That is NOT impressive!

I agree. Which leads me to question the integrity of the selection committee. Indiana didn't get in and they had a better season. I can't seem to find a valid reason North Carolina got in besides $$$, but even with that I can't think of another instance where even a Kentucky or Duke would've gotten in like you said.

It pays to have Bubba on your team.

UNC will make a FF run and we will all hear how stupid and wrong we were to ever question the committee and how we Bennies should shut up and know our place. Such is the state of CBB and the world now.

I had a UL friend make a post yesterday saying…… “ I wish we could get all the calls in Rupp like UK does. lol. I was like…WHAT??

Yeah we never get the calls like unc or Duke do. We shouldn't be lumped in with them was my point to the OP. I think we all agree unc has been given 1 seed treatment for an 11 seed dog crap resume (not even as they shouldn't be in).

I don't root for SEC teams either unless they play a blue blood.

I think that's the answer. WE'RE the Blueblood and we've pummelled every one of them historically. They're not going to root for us. This is why these teams play with their hair on fire against us and sleepwalk through others.

UK is a blue blood like UNC but if you didn’t see us get screwed in the tourney when we played UNC with Fox I don’t know what to tell you.

Everything gets turned into drama or a scandal. They are just going to be embarrassed in this tournament. Letting them in did them no real favors.
