Looks like a nice kid. Well spoken and carries himself well. Congrats. Hope we have evenly matched teams and meet in FF for years to come.

Not that I care, but am I the only 1 who thinks its a lil weird that a life long Duke fan goes to Ky over Duke when just the last class a lifelong KY fan chose to Play for K and Duke over Ky? Recruiting can be so odd at times

So does this put us out of getting Harry Giles? I'm assuming it does & most think he's Duke bound anyway.
Yes and no. We were likely out before Gabriel's commitment.

I would say with Giles already leaning toward Duke, combined with UK bringing in Gabriel, SKJ and adding them to our returning frontcourt players, it makes it unlikely he comes. However, Giles is the type of talent that doesn't need to worry about who is on the roster. He's better than everyone else anyway, so he will get his playing time regardless.

Kentucky moves up to No. 2 in the class rankings with the addition of Wenyen Gabriel. Class includes Sacha Killeya-Jones (29) & Tai Wynyard.

Better than 23rd imo.

A front court of:

SKJ, Gabriel, Wynard, and Humphries is LEGIT!

Probably, but that is where ESPN has him ranked, so they will always reference their own rankings when referring to recruits.

I would think that Cal would take Bam and Fox, and call it a day, but still push for Monk, in the spring. Would be a great class.

Bam isn't picking UK. I think UK likely adds Fox in the fall and Monk in the spring to go along with one more random player and that'll be the class.

Fox
Monk
Killeya-Jones
Gabriel
Random McPlayer
Mom Bam says not so fast. Loves CC.

What a day, what a day!!! Go CATS! "and Welcome, how bout a peach..."

Congrats UK! Hell of a player.

Cmon man...don't make me like you:)
That's great. You keep thinking he's a realistic option for UK. Something would have to change course that I can't recall ever happening for that to take place and it would involve Bam pissing A LOT of people off that he's loyal to.

You are a bundle of optimism.
Haven't you been on here the last couple weeks complaining that Gabriel and Giles were going to duke? Lets hope you continue to be consistently wrong.

No. I've been consistently saying Gabriel could very likely land at Duke and that was always the case. Just because I wasn't homering it up doesn't mean you should lower your comprehension skills when I post.

And Giles likely will be at either Wake Forest or Duke. UK is the long shot. You can't EVER totally rule out Cal when he focuses on a guy, but those other two schools have much more going for em. This isn't uncommon knowledge.

How about this...Giles will be at uk or duke and WF is the long shot.

Giles would be the best player in any class he's in. That said, I won't be heartbroken if (when) he goes to Duke. All we really gotta do now is work on the backcourt.

There's a good chance Random McPlayer's name could be Kobi Simmons, right?

Man, talk about your out of no where commitments. Before today I wasn't even sure if I would have had us in Gabriel's top two. Great timing, though. As much as I wanted Bridges, it really helps to alleviate the sting of likely losing out on him on the 3rd. Pretty cool to essentially have our frontcourt for the 2016 class locked up as of October, especially given the fact that I had my doubts if we were really among the favorites for any of the top big men left. Now if we could just land Fox, (Recruitment like those of Bridges, Fultz, etc have made me nervous, as it's been a harsh reminder that the momentum of a recruitment can shift in an instant.) we'd probably be set until Monk's ready to announce come Spring.

As quick as some of us are to knock 24/7 on here, you gotta give credit to Chris Fischer on this one, he called it before anyone else.
