Negativity comes from some fans who continue to play the "woe is us, everybody hates us because we're Kentucky" card. Bud had a great day, a so-so to above average year, and will hopefully be picked early on draft day.

Marshall is making the switch to DB. Posted a respectable 40 time. Should be intriguing to watch who picks him up.
every time they brought bud up they made sure to say "he's not consistent". "he's not polished". "takes bad angles". "doesn't show good instincts". geeze, these guys are in college. outside of a very few every year, they all need coaching up for the pro game. it just seemed like they went overboard on bud. you dont put up the #'s that bud did this year on athleticism alone.Originally posted by porterwildcat:

This is very true. The HUGE difference between the NFL and the NBA is the NFL expects you to produce and help them win NOW. The NBA can hide a young guy at the end of the bench or for 2-3 years in the D-League. Somebody said Dupree needs to go to a team where he can develop in 2-3 years. No. In the NFL you produce NOW or they'll find somebody else.Originally posted by porterwildcat:
Unfortunately, Bud is not polished, he takes bad angles, and was not "top 10" productive in college. These analysts could NOT care less where you come from. But. They all remember the lesson of Mike Mamula, who wasn't highly regarded in 1995. Mamula came to the combine and put up a 4.58 40, repped 225 in the high 20s, and jumped nearly 40 inches. He did it as the biggest OLB at the combine. He was picked 7 th overall. His career was considered a bust and the Eagles regretted taking the "workout warrior." Teams today don't care where you play. They watch tape endlessly and take the combine as one piece of a bigger puzzle.
