This isn't a week 6 game. This is to go to the SB. You gotta take a chance for points every time you get it. Going for it was stupid both times. The FG isn't guaranteed, but you gotta trust in your special teams.

It's not all bad for the Lions. They still have company in never having been to a SB with the Browns, Jags, and Texans.
There is aggressive and there is reckless. It's a fine line and the lions were guilty of the latter
Those 4th down conversion attempts that failed reminded me of the Hal Mumme philosophy when he was here. Campbell knew they were the dog and 49ers were going to make a run at them so try to go for the juggler when you can. Roll the dice if your the 7.5 point road dog, that's how you pull off the upset.
Second guessers will call them bad decisions, and using 2020 hind sight they are, but in real time I think he took strategic risks to win that didn't work out, but if they had people would be talking about what a genius he was.

Being risky going for 4th down on your opponents 45 is one thing....but 4td and 3 on the 25 yard line and passing up a pretty easy 3pts....when you are down 3 pts in 4th qtr....is Hal Mumme-ish silliness.
