Pope HAS to win this one. I'm looking forward to it but also dreading it.
This is setting up for John Calipari to get his first league win and a shocking win in rupp arena 🥴 I’ll be nervous as hell for that one.
I don't think massive 0-4 suckage is setting him up for a win in Rupp.
If there is one game where Cal rekindles his old magic and fire, it'll be against us. Bank it. They might not win, but I fully expect Arkansas to give us everything they have. They'll suddenly hit and defend threes like we wanted Cal teams to do for years. Bank it.

They may not have a team by 2.1 how many more losses in a row before they just quit on Cal.
You can tell nobody in his team is enjoying playing Cal puts the blame on everyone but himself. It will be interesting to see how this year turns out. He could be on a sinking ship, but just how many years will it take to sink.
I honestly don’t think they can guard what Pope throws at them. Pope knows what this game means to us and so do the players. I’m sure they’ll have something special. I hope to God if UK goes up big they don’t let off the gas.
That's quite possible. But he's also been known to tighten up and turn into coach Kline for big games. I could see him doing that against us too.

I think a couple of things are true regarding the game on 02/01 in Rupp:
- Will this Arkansas team play harder on 02/01 than any other game this season? I think so.
- Is it often true that for some reason when opposing teams who don't shoot well come to Rupp, they light it up? You bet
HOWEVER, in the case with Arkansas, a good chunk of their team has proven many times over the course of a season that they can't shoot in Rupp, so I'm hoping that holds true in this game as well.
Earlier today they were guaranteeing a W vs Mizzu,, now they not sure if can win 1 game in sec 😂
He is SOOOOOOO pissed at the situation down there right now with HIS team. You can see it on his face and hear it in his voice. But he KNOWS there is NO ONE to blame but himself!!!!
He is just at a loss for WHY his team just won't do what he thinks they need to do to win. Will he EVER realize that he is coaching a style of basketball that is 15 years behind how the game is played now???!!!! His coaching staff is LAZY and he requires very little from them, so they just COAST. His players don't listen to him because they are basically mercenaries that couldn't care less about winning at the highest level.
He just needs to retire.

The staff part really isn’t emphasized enough.
It’s a direct result of him centralizing “leadership” and creating an environment where nobody can question his decisions.
Decentralized command empowers your entire chain of command. Centralized commands creates a bunch of baby birds with zero initiative that are doing the bare minimum and waiting to be fed.
Pope is the exact opposite. He’s given his staff his command guidance directive and empowered the individual pieces to take initiative to achieve said directive goals. A perfect example is the “rebound course” video guy leading the charge on charting hits and blockouts and holding class on it w the team
It'll probably be the Nelly Davis breakout game. He's been horrible all year.
Arkansas plays pretty tough halfcourt defense, especially on the perimeter. We need to rebound well and get out in transition as much as possible. Cal and his staff don't have the brainpower or work ethic to stop us running up and down, whipping passes and shooting 3s.
Not sure .. after a big road win at Florida they may not get up for the 0-4 Hogs who will be desperate
If I’m Pope I’d play a ZONE the entire game against Arkansas as PACK it in nice and tight.
Wagner and Calipari will play their hearts out against us.

Post game CCC will ramble about how they haven't practiced much against zone defense. 😂
They would go into that game, what 0-7.. if they dont have a win by that game then the season is basically over for them, and Cal will be dealing with a shit ton of unhappy players, fans and boosters.
Nah, he’ll send KP out to face the reporters and KP will tell them we “tricked” them with the zone 😂
