I like this draw. Indiana and Kansas should both be good match-ups for us. Don't see Miami/Iowa posing much of a threat either.
that would be the greatestCould you imagine if KU got sent home by Wich St, two years in a row?
SECT has no bearing on seeding. That's decided before the conference tournaments ever start. I think the best we get is a 3 seed if we win out the last regular season games, thanks to Iowa losing last night.I think we could get up to a 2 seed if we win out our last six games (three reg/three SECT) and maybe get a little help from the others in 2-3 seed range.
I was just wondering if the NCAA might try to seed UK against Texas Tech? They seem to like games that have a story line and a Cal coached UK against Tubby would be that.
Agree,I don't like them at all but they are a little better than most here give them credit for being.what is the damn obsession with UK and IU playing in the 2nd round?
Agree with this,UNC evidently can't beat Duke even though they have an advantage in numbers and at just about every position. If UNC drops the return match with Duke and doesn't win the ACCT I don't see them being a 1Still think Xavier is a 1 over UNC at this point. Such a "weak" field, relatively speaking, that I'm not sure it matters. Is there a difference between Baylor and Iowa or West Virginia and Purdue or so on? There are a few matchups that don't favor UK, but overall I don't see any reason why the Cats can't make a run?
The SECT has plenty of bearing on what seed teams get. How can you possibly think it is decided before the tournament even begins. If Kentucky goes down in the 1st game or wins the SEC Championship will make plenty of difference especially in a year like this. Also it affects all the teams not just Kentucky.SECT has no bearing on seeding. That's decided before the conference tournaments ever start. This. Thanksits been stated many times by spoke people from the committee that the SEC title game has little bearing on seeding.
This was the part of the reasoning we were given for Florida getting a 2 and UK getting a 4 back in 2011 despite us taking 2 of 3 from them and having a very similar overall resume.
They also said in 2014 that had we beaten Florida, the #1 team and #1 overall seed, in the SEC final it wouldn't have made a difference in our seed. They said the game happens too close to the brackets being released for them to factor it in beyond a non at large team winning it.
But I think that's only the final game. The rest of the tournament makes a difference it seems.
Another reason the SEC needs to move the tourney up a day.
The conference tournaments are a few games. In the grand scheme of things they probably weigh alot less than most believe
ThisAnd us a 4 seed in almost every bracket??? Is there any reason for us to play the rest of the games??? Geez, we are one if not the hottest team & a 4 is the best we can get?? No team ranked ahead of us scares me at all btw.
Well... You are wrong, recent history has shown the winning the SEC tourny has no bearing on seeding. One year the commitee admited it.The SECT has plenty of bearing on what seed teams get. If we win out a 3 seed may indeed be the best we can do but all depends on other teams.
Had we won vs Kansas and A&M 2 games that should have been wins Kentucky would be a 2 seed right now.
Only the championship game has no bearing, unless a team like Ole Miss pulls a shocker, because the brackets are basically already made. They would or should factor it if UK made it to the final game.Well... You are wrong, recent history has shown the winning the SEC tourny has no bearing on seeding. One year the commitee admited it.
Sounds like nothing more than a wishful dream.Beating Bucknell, Wichita State and Kentucky on the way to Houston? Sounds like fun!

One might say that.
Then again, one of the teams in question has the best resume in the country and will be ranked number 1 next wk, while the other has lost games to garbage teams all year with few quality wins.
Which holds more bias?
You mean that same school and coach that is notorious for getting beat by mid-majors and not making past the opening weekend, while the other has been to back-to-back Final Fours? One might say that.
