I don't think he will start in the post, but he probably plays some in the post.

Right now, Richards is the top option inside. He is very raw offensively. And he will not be able to play 40 minutes a game.

SKJ was less than impressive last season. If he doesn't step up, we made need Washington.

The other option to back up Richards is Wynyard. He has also been unimpressive in his time here so far.

Washington might be our best option. The thing is, can he defend the post? He is 6'7, but with a 7'4 wingspan and a 240 lbs. frame, he should be able to spend some time defending the post.

On offense, he creates a nice mismatch, pulling the other teams Center away from the basket where he can drive from the high post, shoot the jumper, or use his passing skills to throw lobs to the rim for our big guards. Also, there have been tons of 6'7 or smaller guys that were beasts in the low post. Barkeley and Corliss Williamson come to mind.

He is a great rebounder on both ends, so that should not hurt us.

I hope SKJ and/or Wynyard make it a moot point, but I believe there will be times when we need Washington in the post.

I think if our Cats hustle they should be called Irma. You know 185 mile winds. Cal will have this team running like a well oiled machine by December not in March as usual. This team may be our best ever by March. Coach K will ruin his talented team and they will be out of the big dance by the second round. Oh! Wait a minute. Since they always get the easiest region they may make it to the 3rd round. Jose may just remain at sea and not hit Mexico or Duke. Who is the best forecaster on TV? I think Jessie Thompson has to be considered. Hey, did you hear about the weather man that farted on live TV? Who will commit first this year to UK? I think it will be Slowly. I think Mr. W is currently doing a rap song with what's his name, so this could help us with him. When is Barrett visiting I keep hearing he may have given Cal a verbal. Here's Johnny.

One, there have been a couple practice witnesses who have mentioned that SKJ looks improved, and the same number who have mentioned that Richards is still raw.

Two is the long and illustrious list of freshman bigs at our school and others who've looked like deer just stepping out of the uterus. The 1-10 guys tend to be dominant, but all the ones outside of that (even high in the teens, like Dakari), tend to underwhelm in year one.

1. Even witnesses to murders are only 17% accurate.
2. They said Booker and Townes were raw.
3. SKJ couldn't guard me.
4. Briscoe was a Soph and was also underwhelming.

Until he shows it in a real game, he's not ready. Can he? Of course and I for one love his offensive game. But I haven't seen the evidence yet. We will soon.

I dont think any of us would enjoy watching PJ in the post all game every game, but if we're being honest, how many talented front-court types do we have on the roster? Richards is the one dude with the size and upside to lock down the center spot, but with Richards being a freshman and most likely going to find many games of foul trouble, other than Gabriel and PJ, who can we have playing the frontcourt for Kentucky this season? We all know this is a team built with talented SF types. When that is the case, Cal will have to play some small ball throughout the season.
