New B10 media rights deal.

B10 has the > population advantage but the SEC has the > relevance in football.
So new SEC deal will be (almost) = to the B10 deal.

There’s not enough good big ten teams to have watchable games across all of these networks. They’re going to be spread thin. They’ll be showing Maryland vs. Indiana on a major network at some point. Once Texas and Oklahoma join, the media will be chomping at the bit to broker another deal. That’s why the new big ten deal is only for a few years. Let them gloat for the time being. The eyes will be on the SEC when it comes to watching premier games. Attention draws money.

SEC has to make a move or they will be left behind.
Naw, just wait until Texas and Oklahoma join. There’s a reason their deal is only for a few years. Markets don’t mean shit when all the eyes are tuned in to espn to watch big time games. They’ll renegotiate when you have 10 of the best programs in the country playing each other in one conference.

Sankey is playing chess now. Made the first move adding Texas and Oklahoma. Big ten countered. Then the big ten made their next move with the media thinking they were getting ahead. When the dust settles, the SEC will still be the most watched and desirable product in college football. Then they get whatever deal they want with whatever media outlet. Remember the, more than likely, CFP expansion. How many SEC teams will get bids? More than any other conference.

Everyone knows the SEC is the best Football Conference and so does All TV Networks. The networks also know that the BT has the Population and Very Large Alumni bases. If the Network Bosses thought that they were going to get a high Viewership in markets like LA, Chicago and NY during SEC games, they would have waited.

There's a question about ucla joining. The uc regents may block the move - if so, I wonder how that will effect their deal?

Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and USC are going to draw regardless of opponent. Same way Alabama Georgia Florida and LSU do.

The rest you depend on good records and ranked match-up.

From what I can tell, Fox gets their pick of the best game every week. CBS and NBC seem like they are going to rotate the second and third pick, but that hasn't been spelled out yet (that I can find) other than CBS at 330 and NBC at 730.

No, no questions

Big 10 & Fox had this figured out months ago. They signed the deals knowing some clueless egg head admins can't kill the deal afterwards. Much better lawyers wrote the contracts than those the regents could hire now.

UCLA is gone, done deal

So what happens when FOX, who gets first choice, takes OSU @ USC for example? They’re gonna kick off at 9 AM PT?

They will move the time in certain situations. Last year, when Penn State visited Iowa, the game was played at 4 est, 3 central.

The whole deal with the BNK is that Fox has scored very good ratings by putting a strong game here while everyone else typically opened the day with filler.

SEC can't make any media rights moves until their current contract comes near to an end. It would be stupid to make a move now to lock something in when revenue could be much higher years from now.

Of course, it could also be much lower the way the economy is bottoming out and businesses are closing. Who will be able or willing to afford the pay per view system once the economy is finally destroyed by this congress and admin?

Hope they still allow radio broadcasts in the future, because I'll still be listening to those.
