Nearly guaranteed now, Brock will transfer out this spring.

Cutter, as a freshman, is already better. It isn't even close. If we can get him an OL, there's no telling what he's capable of.
First of all, where will he go?
Second, who will pay him 7 figures to transfer?
I understand CMS made a 2 year NIL commitment to get BVG to transfer here.
He isn't going to walk away from that NIL deal and neither is CMS walking away from his cash cow.

Why? Neither one of them have anywhere to go. Who wants either of them?? Let alone at that price.

That or he can be a back up like he was at GA. He's been one of the most disappointing players I've seen at UK. Just curious, was the high school competition he was playing against terrible? Like comparable to 1a competition in KY? I just don't know how you watch that and think 5 stars.

What is the “deal” you speak of? Is it an actual, legal, signed contract? And what party signed it committing to pay Brock for 2 years? What Name/Image/Likeness obligations must Brock fulfill as part of this deal?

Brock can stay for what i care. He won't be playing. He can wash jocks after games and practice. He may be good for that.

I’m sure if it’s like any other BS contract/deals we make with coaches the players are guaranteed the money just to come to UK. Not for results!

First of all, NIL obligations are a joke. NIL is simply pay for play. Might have to make a few autograph signing sessions or stand in front of a new car in a commercial, but there are no "rules" around NIL obligations that I am aware of.

And the "deal" is whatever coaches/NIL reps can negotiate with the player and/ or his agent to entice him to sign a scholarship with your school.

The whole thing is a sham. Pay for play. Whoever has the most $$$ gets the best players.

Whether he plays or not will be up to CMS AND whatever the commitment was made to get him here. Was probably promised the starting QB job for 2 years.

My point is if it's all a "joke," then there really is no binding obligation to pay him to be here for another year, if that is indeed the situation.

We have people predicting Brock is going to transfer in the spring. How is that possible if there is such a deal in place? No obligation to fulfill his "contract?"

First off, I didn't say NIL was ALL a joke. I said NIL " obligations" for players are a joke.

There could be a mutual parting of ways, but, again, where would he go??

Have you seen a worse QB at ANY level this year??

I haven't. And I watch a lot of FB.

And if CMS committed the starting QB job for 2 years with a 7 figure NIL deal to BVG, do you think CMS would go back on that commitment??

And if he did renege, do you think BVG and his dad would just accept that and transfer out??

He can choose to leave. But if anyone representing UK backs out of a NIL commitment, the opportunity to recruit quality athletes from the portal will become very slim pickings.

The NIL deals generally are paid out in chunks and very non-committal by both parties.

It’s probably harder for UK to get out of this deal than it would be for Brock to leave. BVG has no options because of his poor play and thus we are probably stuck with the deal.

We’re going to free up a ton of $ next year with Brown transferring and Walker going pro.

Need to put that $ toward Gilmore, Boley, and BEG Wilcox to stay. Unfortunately Wilcox is going to transfer because he has been comically unused this season.

Wilcox is a very good runner, but below average pass blocker. You have to do both to be able to stay on the field.

He’s gotten BV smoked several times this year. He missed another blitzer early in the game that led to a sack. Bad OL play combined with backs who don’t block well has led to several sacks this year.

Having said that, PB is learned as backs mature. I want Wilcox back and believe he can be a 3 down back. But, there’s been a reason this year for the RB rotation.

I really don't know what was guaranteed. I somewhat doubt he was promised the starting QB position for 2 years. If Stoops did that, it was incredibly dumb... particularly since Boley is making a decent case to be QB1 on the field. If Stoops was truly committed to such a guarantee, the LAST thing he would/should have done is give Boley the reigns for the 2nd half of the game today.

Stoops had to offer BVG something more than $$$ to get him signed at UK.

I hope that something was the starting QB job. If not, how can you explain CMS continuing to trot BVG out there as starter when Ray Charles can see that not only is CB a better QB, but CB is also the FUTURE for UK football.

If CMS is not upholding his commitment to BVG, we have even bigger problems at HC, if that is even possible.

I'm afraid Cutter will transfer.....during the off-season open period there will be several SEC coaches contacting him and offering him $$$$ and telling him you don't want to play in Stoopid's 1980 offense and lose all the time, when you can come play for us and play for championships. Auburn, Ole Miss and a few others will be QB shopping. They see Boley's potential

After getting exposed this year he will just need to drop down a level to mid major G5 or so. If Stoops stays he’s in a catch 22. Firing the OC would be counter productive as would firing Wolf. We’ve had zero continuity pretty much Stoops entire tenure. We have to hope some people can step up with NIL money to buy the best OL transfers we can find. I just fear the status of the program at this point doesn’t exactly make it a nice destination for transfers. Enthusiasm is severely lacking.

Actually Stoopid should be fired for paying 7 figures to a third string QB....that alone is insane especially when you'd not even seen him play more than a couple of mop up minutes running the ball. But of course Stoopid loves him a running QB........

go Back and watch the play Wilcox took the backer on Clumsy QB stepped to the left and fell down
Jesse Palmer missed the call he also said Anwar Stewart was one of the best good gawd our dline sucks to be so experienced we fun in place and get no pressure Tx ran the ball down there ass

There’s no doubt BV is seeing ghost now. He scrambles when he has a pocket and holds the ball when the pocket collapses. I agree on that play that BV stepped into that particular sack.

But, Wilcox has struggled with pass protection while Demo is not a blocking liability.

Wilcox runs the balls well between the tackles, breaks tackles, and appears to be a home run threat. But, he needs to improve his pass blocking.

Basically, yeah, that’s how it works. All these players have agents. If a school/coach makes a deal with a player and don’t hold up their end of the agreement that agent won’t push recruits toward said school.

A qb would have to be crazy to come to UK and face the SEC defenses on a results dependent contract!

Agree. Wilcox didn’t pancake the guy but he forced him outside where there was plenty of room for BVG to step up and keep his eyes downfield. Instead he took a step and fell down. WTH?

Players want to be paid like "employees", then players can be "fired" like employees. If BVG isn't performing up to his NIL deal, then cut him loose.
