NCAA Champions: Auburn & Alabama vs field...who you got?

I’d never bet on a pool of only two teams against the field. That’s always an unwise bet with the wild crapshoot that is this 68 team single elimination format.

But I agree with the sentiment. If I had to pick just two against the field, it would probably be the two Alabama teams.

I’d take Houston/Florida even money over Bama/Auburn.

Now, you get out of the top 5 and that’s longer odds. But Florida is probably the most well rounded team in America.

Auburn is a top 3 team and maybe the best when they are allowed to abuse the other team…just don’t know if that style will be allowed in the tournament.

I would take UCONN over field last year.

I would take Baylor/Gonzaga in 21.

It doesn't usually work out.

Before this game, might have to think about it.
But now, Auburn with recent history doesn't look as inevitable.
Houston, Michigan State, Maryland, St Johns plus rest of SEC would be better bet.

I think Auburn has the greatest chance of winning the national title among all teams.

That being said it's gonna be like 70% Field, 30% Auburn.

Auburn may not make it out of the 1st Weekend they way they are playing and the ignorance of their staff for never having their best lineup play together in a game. It's odd how they refuse to have their most dangerous lineup in together but it's criminal how they never want to get fastbreak/secondary baskets--and want to be a ground/pound team who is a shitty FT shooting team.

BTW--Denver Jones shitting his pants from the FT line late....Broome gagging all day (make 2 layups and you don't have to worry about choking 2 FT's) from the line.....and honestly I saw one bracket where Auburn would face Memphis in 2nd Round and I'd take Memphis to win that game at this point in the year. Auburn is a hot mess. Their lone bright spot was they found a way to make this game competitive as they were sinking into an abyss of dog crap basketball.

The "Atlanta Celtics" of CBB are showing their ass right now and it's hilarious to watch.

Field, easily.

I'd think you'd be better off taking Houston and Florida over the field, personally.

Auburn has finally shown it's weaknesses, they can be beaten just like anyone else. That air of invincibility from earlier this year is now totally gone. Just another top seed to get upset at this point. Have they had a great year so far ? Sure. But this team losing 3 of its last 4 (even with a backloaded schedule) is a very telling trend.

Auburn and Alabama had better watch out. They aren't "sneaking up" on anybody in the NCAA, their cockiness and attitude will be their ultimate undoing. And with the victory today, if Barnes doesn't make the Final Four THIS YEAR, will he ever ? And will Tennessee ever make it there? Not betting either Alabama, Auburn or the Vols will make the final four, regardless of the path they get given to them.

I still think Kentucky and Florida will be the two last SEC teams standing when it's all said and done.

Go Big Blue !

Give me 66/68 chance to your 2/68 chances any day and twice on Sundays.

But if you’re talking who’s got the best percentage chance to win it all, they’ve gotta be two of the top five.

I would love it if Auburn really was a hot mess but they have just been playing like a team that had a #1 seed wrapped up early. Thinking they will continue to play like the last few games is wishful.

Tennessee will be the last SEC team standing, Barnes gets to the FF in his last season.
Why does everyone think Barnes is retiring? I know he is 71 but how often does a coach retire at the top of his game unless forced to by health problems?

I’m saying Barnes retires, Oats is off to the NBA,
Golden is still harassing coeds at Florida next season, Pearl is still waiting for the call from a big-time program that never comes, Beard’s girlfriend hates when he’s angry after a loss, and Calipari is glad Arkansas fans are dumb enough to believe he knows what he’s doing.

Too many injuries for us. I’d guess Florida and Tennessee. Of Florida, Tennessee, alabama, and auburn I think auburn is the least likely to make the final four.

with the exception of playing us, auburn is just not scoring like they were most of the season. they play ark, uga, ole miss, ut and their scoring in the 60’s.

their season depends on baker-mazara. they have a championship level front court with johnson, broome and cardwell. but mazara, annoying as he is, is probably their most important player. he is capable of being a ff mop type player, or the guy that kills their mojo for an early round loss.

Don't look now, but Florida has opened up a 12 point lead on Bama.

sorry, 14 point lead.

They're gonna beat them. Gators will beat Vols, too. Florida would be the one team I'd take against the field if I had to pick only one right now.
