NBA Draft Age Change?

Sure, the hardcores will still watch but the casual fans will tune out. The G-League is definitely a serious threat to college basketball.
As long as there is BBN, there will be CBB. It is the root. Not just off the cuff rant, it is fact. Read some books on CBB.

(somebody watching me. post after this one never made it to the front page)

Cal already addressed this issue and said regardless of the age limit we will eat first. Cal believes no matter the pool of players to recruit, he will still get the best available.

Before one and done, the top college programs were UK, Duke, UNC, and Kansas. After the OAD rule, the top programs are UK, Duke, UNC, and Kansas. If they change the rule again, the top programs will be UK, Duke, UNC, and Kansas.

I heard NBA Commissioner Adam Silver's comments on one and done a while back and it certainly seems he is open to letting guys go straight from high school again. Silver has expressed frustration with guys only going to one semester worth of classes and not wanting to be there when they could be in the NBA. They are rebranding the D-League the Gatorade League and adding teams so each NBA team has their own independent team. Sure seems like the NBA allowing players to go straight to the league or the G-League is picking up steam.

Here's a well written article on the matter:

Who are these guys who just go to class for 1 semester? Since its such a problem surely you can name them. It's their league a d they can run it however they want, they just don't need to make up BS. As if they care about these guys education anyway, they made the 1 year rule to evaluate so they'd know if theu were drafting Kwame Brown or Kevin Garnett.

Probably true the flaw is the deeper you go into the next level of players the difference in that talent shrinks. There isn't some complete consistency here particularly with front court players. You are advocating regression to the mean.

You never watched donkey basketball.
5 donkeys per team, 1 player on each donkey. Dribble the ball while on the back of a donkey before shooting. Players cannot leave the donkey or they get a foul.
We use to play it.
Yes I know what it is. First time I ever seen it was in 1963 when I was in the 3rd grade. My uncle was one of basketball players that volunteered to ride the donkey and try to play basketball. One of the guys that brought the donkey's to the school would shock them on the butt with an electric pole. Funniest thing I can ever remember seeing. Damn donkey's was throwing everyone off.

I have concern over the quality of coaching a high school player would receive going to any NBA development league over a year or two in college with HOF active coaches. Not many HOFers coaching NBA development leagues.
If I were a high school player thinking of the NBA, would I want my development be with coaches trying to prove themselves or with coaches who has proved themselves?
Or with former NBA players teaching the tricks of the game.
From Silver, his approach is to protect the NBA not college. The question becomes, is it better for the players to learn the NBA game from college coaches that have the responsibility to win college basketball games or from former NBA players and coaches to be who can teach the NBA style and methods.
No one decision is going to be right for all. I would prefer a HS big to learn from a Ewing, Olajowon, Robinson, Garnett. But I would prefer my guards to learn from college coaches.

HOF college coaches are in the HOF because they win games and possibly titles, not because they are good at developing players.

College coaches are paid to win and make post season tournaments. In the cases of schools like UK, Duke, and other blue bloods they are expected to compete for final fours and titles every year, or they wind up selling insurance or giving "expertise" in a TV studio.

D league coaches, like minor league baseball managers, know that their job is to develop players, not win D league or minor league championships. Players will receive better coaching and development in the D league than they would in college.

I think the rule should be straight outta highschool or if you chose to go to college or overseas you have to stay two years at either place before entering the league. Very few guys are NBA ready straight out of highschool. Sure guys like cousins kat wall and towns could of done it but they are the exception. When Davis got to uk he was a twig. He said all along he would go to college for a yr for sure. I think him being at uk for one yr has made him what he is today. He learned work ethic here, he put on some weight to bang down low and he became an even better shot blocker.

nah...people will still care more about that their school beat a rival school more than watching "great basketball". there has not been a single must watch player in the one and done era that has drawn the masses to their tv sets. I would venture to say the closest was john wall and that had more to do with the john wall dance than playing basketball.
