Nate Ament?

The problem here, no matter how good he is, you really can't justify giving him 4 or 5 mil. For a guy like Cooper Flagg or John Wall or a Kevin Durant, sure. But 4 mil for a one year rental mesns you're almost for sure not getting back that ROI. And there's only so much money to go around.

Ill trust the staff on this one.

Do we actually believe this kid is asking for 4 mill though? I don’t believe that at all. I think it’s more like 2 mill(which is still a lot)

It’s really frustrating when every recruiting thread turns into a money thread when not one person knows the actual money that we or any other team are actually offering or have in the reservoir.

We very likely don’t have less money than UNC or UL to offer. The players are still going to the same schools and coaches as they’ve ever gone.

I've heard that it's 3 to 5 mil. And you're right, who knows if that's true. But word is that AJ Dybantsa got 8.5 million to go to BYU. So other top10 recruits I'm sure are aware of roughly what the market is, and are starting there.

The most I could stomach for a top10 freshman is 3 mil, and even that I dont like. Top portal players, up to 2 mil? In that range I guess. Top50 freshman, 1 mil. Everything after that is in the 6 figures. If you're not fogured to be a 6th man or better, your NIL probably shouldn't hit 1mil.. but that might very well put us behind other schools so who knows.

Honestly 2 million is the most I would want to spend on a top player, but I also understand you gotta pay money now to get good players.

1) these “demands” are insanely exaggerated
2) why the hell does any fan care how much they pay a player? It’s not my money, give whoever $10 million for all I give a crap

You mean to tell me that this kid woukd get nearly the same money as Coach Pope as a one year guy? No thank you. If this is true, I hope we pass and go after some mean playing transfers (several) for that amount of cash.

I believe Cooper Flagg has a $2.9M deal. Hard to believe Dybantsa will be getting $7M from BYU. NIL is getting a bit ridiculous...

I heard AJ got 5. Nobody knows. The deal includes a base salary of $5 million, plus additional money from Nike and Red Bull. For reference Flagg reported to be the highest this year at 2.9 million so I’m sorry Ament isn’t worth over 2 million.

I read where nate arrived Monday stayed overnight and was sighted having dinner at Jeff ruby's

The only way you go out and pay this kid 3-5 million is if the boosters and club blue will have enough to fill out the roster with good players and still have the depth of a 10-12 man rotation.
Yeah, why should we care about any particular $$ amount that a player receives. The issue is using the NIL budget (which we don't know) to put/hold together the best team possible. The dollar amounts being thrown around are relative. So, I don't see why I would say "I wouldn't pay $X for this player" unless I knew the impact that dollar figure would have on putting/holding the rest of the roster together, etc. But now discussing relative values I can understand, such as "this player should have a higher value and priority than that player" kind of assessment.
