Injury transparency

You

You might want to research HIPPA violations before you start spoutin' off
You might want to research every other team that has injured players and the reports they give. I just saw information yesterday on Ziegler from Tennessee, knee injury, with his expected time to return. The NBA has an online page with player injuries and status. We aren’t asking for a detailed report.

You and others are making too much of the Hippa requirements. Butler can say anything he wants about his ( basketball injury) or give Pope permission to give the info. You are violating Hippa only when the patient does not want the information known.
Don’t take it up with me, brother. I’m just a forum poster. The University of Kentucky needs to draw your ire if you feel they aren’t forthcoming enough about injuries. I’ve spoke my peace on the matter — it’s not really the fans’ business beyond the basics. Whether they are going to play, questionable, doubtful, out etc. I’d rather the coach keep things that could put players at risk or assist the opponent in scouting private as much as possible

Matters a ton. See my other response. It will be mandated at some point. Whether you like it or not.
You're right. I don't like it much. I think gambling is stupid and ruining the sports I love to watch. And since the injury report that is mandated now is very similar to that of professional sports, I don't really think it's going to get more detailed until those do.

I am not upset at all. It is much to do about nothing as far as I am concerned. I think it is a shame that J. Vanderbilt didn't this kind of reasonable treatment.

I agree. The same people that were knuckleheads here are the same people that have been knuckleheads for a long time. The more the fans with an assembled cortex can, they should begin to disassociate with the knuckleheads that are making us look like fools in the public square.

Coach Popes post game presser seemed to deflect away from giving any information when asked. I thought he mentioned having transparency with the program in his opening speech day one. Cal hadn’t seen his injured players to give updates.
lol... your name is a couple of "traitors" to BBN, yet you have problems with transparency. There are still HIPPA and FERPA laws (even though, these guys are now pros)
I see those things going away in the future

These guys are fricken pros, not amateurs. There should be a detailed injury report with full transparency.
you are asking a very subtle, yet important question. for athletes, are their medical privacy rights waived (i assume you can do it contractually)? not even thinking about the cats or NCAA. How does this work for the NFL or NBA?
