NASCAR thread

Chaos on the front stretch there at the end. Shocked they kept it together for a green flag run with all of that blocking down the stretch.

FOX's coverage has gone so far down the shitter. 6 commercial breaks in stage 1. The late commercial break in the winding laps of stage 2. Use the damn laps not counted between stages to run your ads. Mike Joy wants to bark at fans who rightfully criticize the amount of commercials and the piss poor product put out on a weekly basis.

Get rid of your cartoon graphics and the banner taking up a huge portion of the screen on the left. Run the scoring ticker at the top or open a damn app for everything they show beyond the leaderboard. Need to let go of their sorry ass production team. With streaming technologies, it is uncalled for to not have at least 30 minutes to an hour of post-race coverage on the Fox Sports app at minimum. Better yet, actually go to the track and act like you want to be apart of the races like NBC Sports does taking their entire team to the track each week, instead of hiding in some studio in Charlotte.

It is evident getting competition in the form of Amazon, Discovery & TNT did nothing to improve their coverage. They have gotten way to damn reliant on their glory years in the 2000s with Mike, Larry, DW, Jeff Hammond, Yocum and that era of FOX Sports that made it work. For goodness sake, cut the damn sideshow comedy routine!! DW is gone, everyone else who sounds so cringey. I've made this spiel here before and read it in various other places too about the same gripes with FOX.

Penske cheating? NO WAY!!

This sport is completely broken with this terrible car. Hamlin wins the Air Block 400

I agree between terrible decisions on tracks, gimmick races, their desire to make the racing too even and tires that never wear out the racing is terrible. NASCAR is pushing the fans away as fast as they possibly can.

Damn that was close. Larson!! 0.001!!! Closest ever finish.

I think Harvick has been pretty good this year. I like the dynamic of having former drivers, a crew chief like McReynolds and then someone with a lot of TV experience to tie it all together. With that said I am not as big of a fan of Mike Joy as some others. Bob Jenkins was always good as was Allen Bestwick but Mike Joy seems like he doesn't know what is going on half the time.

FOX cancels NASCAR Race Hub's daily show at the end of their run this year. Hopefully it is a start of them improving their content and come back next season with a much better product. Sometimes less is more.

One of these new networks has to pick up Allen Bestwick. They are missing out if they don't. Also, with Dale Jr. against the rumors of Richmond losing a race at one of NASCAR's tracks with a lot of tradition and history behind it. Take a road course off the schedule.

More like Keselowski was fortunate to win after Buescher/Reddick took each other at the end. Buescher was strong down the stretch and Reddick was the dominate car today after Larson's race fell apart after getting high into the marbles and that shit on the backstretch early in stage 2. Miserable day for him.

I think K-ski did the work on Reddick to let Buescher close in & get the lead. Net, I'm fine how it worked out.

Reddick led 174 laps today and was the dominant car throughout the race. Buescher wants to cry about getting put in the wall but go back and watch the restart around 33 to go where Keselowski puts Reddick in the wall leaning on him out of 4 even after Tyler slightly rubbed it before for Chris to even get around them. Reddick had run Buescher back down with 10 laps left and Chris was already in the wall by the time Tyler ever made contact once he dive bombed between 1 and 2. Keselowski really wasn't closing in on them losing the lead to Chris, Reddick getting back by and then these two ended their own chances of winning at the end.

Brad definitely put Reddick into the wall. Long story short, Keselowski is still a prick. A long winless streak doesn't change anything. If Hamlin did this for Bubba or Reddick to protect his cars shot at winning, it would be a different narrative.

Racing for the win, nothing else. As Dale Sr would say, Rubbin' is Racing. Just like Larson coming down on Buescher last week at Kansas.

Also believe that Darlington Throwback weekend would be more fitting during the tradition of the Southern 500 race at Labor Day. Whatever they need to do to fill seats for both races I suppose works. Southern 500 will always be a draw.

I guess Denny is happy NASCAR listened to him. Kind of like the old Winston No Bull 5 back in the 90s and a step up from the Xfinity Dash for Cash. Now if they just add more horsepower to the cars.
