Hadn't heard that but hope it's true. So far I know of four other than perhaps Monk:
Bridges
Giles
Alkins
Killeya-Jones

There may be others in the '16 and '17 class coming, and I hope we can get Fox and Adebayo in. Lookin' good.

Just saw the video about his trainer. Good stuff.

Hope the link works.

Kid is a stud, but my question is who is paying the trainer? He trains Durant! He does NOT work for free.

This fella is really good, but I hope KU steers clear.

Dude has "sanctions" red flags all over the place.

You mean like KU steered clear of Selby and his sketchy associates, or McLemore and his agent, or Cliff
Alexander and his issues?

GMAFB - seriously, it's to the point where if Monk does have suspect characters involved in his recruitment, I'd be worried about Kansas coming in and snatching him up.

As Red from Shawshank would say...

"Kansas: clean as a virgin's honey butter."

there are some cases where trainers will work with the most talented kids for a "pay me when you get paid' basis. And there are many cases where handlers will pay for it because the handlers think of these kids as a future pay day. And you can bet handlers get their money back and then some once kids get to the NBA

And the NCAA allows handlers to pay for things if they've been around the kid/player for a while and not just some I just met you less than a year ago now let me give you things type of deal

red flags didnt stop KU from going after selby, alexander, diallo, etc. everyone knew what the issues were with those guys. self did it anyways.

Recruits coming to BBM is fine, but I never take it as a sign of anything.

I don't have the numbers, but I've never gotten the impression that we are more likely to close on guys who attend.

Where is Malik Monk at in this video? It had plenty of Thon Maker but I watched the whole thing and never once saw Malik Monk. Did you really just get Monk and Maker mixed up?[laughing]

I'm sure his brother hooked him up. His brother knows people and isn't stupid.

I don't know if that's true or not. I can remember lots of basketball players who attended BBM and then signed with Kentucky. But it isn't a silver bullet. We miss on some of them too. And we sign lots of players who don't attend BBM. I have never seen any numbers on this, so my opinion is strictly anecdotal. But I believe Monk will sign with Kentucky, and I think it has been in the works for a while now.

Agree

I also think it is a good thing that Monk will be here again for BBM. Go get them Cal.

When I read that post from the Ku fan, I really laughed out loud. That is rich coming from a Ku fan. It seems every guy Ku recruits has something shady going on. It's obvious Ku has no shot at this kid.
