So MJ isn't as confident and thinks MSU is in the lead. What gives? Fultz and Bridges for a while were considered sure things.

Fultz was considered a sure thing but Bridges has always been 50-50 to most. If he falls through and the staff knows it at least fallback Gabriel is coming for his official visit in a few days.

Maybe he's ready to get outta W.Virginia and wants to go back home. Even if it does cost him draft pick money and better 1 yr college development.

Just amazing how many Shabazz Mohammeds will risk it all.

Bridges was thought to be between 2 schools, but UK was considered to be out front. His crystal ball was 80% UK, 20% MSU forever. The crystal ball means jack, but it gives you an idea of where ppl think a player is going. Except when everyone changes their pick a day before the commitment.

I would just really like a legit SF again.

Yeah, the kid just might wanna go home. But it's crazy to me how a kid wants to be a one and done, and knows UK wants him bad yet decides to go somewhere else. I'm just bias, I know.

I have never been confident in Bridges. There are forces at Huntington Prep that are anti-UK, so I'm never confident about any player in that program.

If the whole 2015 recruiting year taught us anything it's that it doesn't matter who we miss on Cal will find the talent to replace them.

If we miss on Bridges, we will survive.

I didn't panic over recruiting in June, I am sure not going to in September.

Yep, this couldn't have been posted in one of the half dozen other Bridges threads. Not to mention, MJ's tweet was already linked in one of those threads, so this thread is absolutely useless. Stop being an attention whore.

An attention whore lol. Sorry, I decided to start a new thread. NO ONE POST THAT TWEET AGAIN.

Izzo has to be selling the hometown hero crap....because there's nothing else he can point to bur a couple of unexpected final 4's, a couple of very disappointing teams & Payne & Green.

If Payne & Green convinces a kid then all I can do is laugh.

Not only that, Bridges will have to face the harsh reality that young kids rarely come into that program with a blaze. Izzo way is slow development. Harris is the only Freshmen that I can remember that really sticks out as having a good freshman year.

Isn't it a recruiting violation for NBA players to help recruit a player?

If Bridges was set on MSU...all he would have to say is ; "Great UK visit", & move on. My money is on Calipari.

This is very premature. It's a toss up. MSU having their version of the Fab 5 is sure tempting to him, but isn't the end all, be all.

I don't particularly care for Matt Jones, but I don't think he would post something like that unless he had a credible source.

And since the kid is committing in 2 weeks, there really is no "drivers seat". Being in the drivers seat with 2 weeks left means it's over. I think that was just the best way for Matt to tell us it's over, without catching any backlash from his source or the kid and people around him for completely ruining his moment.

And honestly, I think most of us realized once the kid moved his timetable up immediately coming off the MSU visit that we had been beaten, even if we weren't ready to admit it.

If we get Fox, Monk, and Simmons to go with Killeya-Jones we still have the better class, based on rankings.

Fox > Bridges
Monk > Langford
Simmons > Winston
Killeya-Jones > Ward

I agree. I think we'll end up with the better class than Michigan State. And honestly, Michigan state with or without bridges doesn't scare me in the least as a program either. I think Cal is just a better overall coach and we're likely going to have a better team on paper than them anyways.

Bridges was a kid I was just really excited about.

I understand the homer, but let's be honest Izzo has done far more with less. Last season's Final Four run is probably what is the catalysis for his 2016 class, which is a monster class with what they have now, Bridges and Jackson.

Frankly I'm just tired of hearing how we're "leading", "a lock", or "would be shocked if a kid went elsewhere" from analysts, some respected for some reason, for months only to see the kid go elsewhere.

We get more than our share obviously but it's clear to me if you're paying these websites for recruiting info you could save your money and just buy a toy 8 ball and have just as good a chance at being right as some of these guys.

So with that class Izzo is a lock for multiple final fours right?

LOL at OP . Always love when people worry needlessly especially about someone who will end up as a Cat most likely . That's why the Murray recruitment was funny . The 2 people who knew what was up always said he would be a cat but rumors get started and people freak out .

lol do people seriously believe all this " his draft stock will suck if he doesn't choose UK" stuff

If u believe this kid has 1st round talent, it'll shine anywhere he goes.

A lot of kids have seen their draft stock plummet at other schools...

Does not happen much at UK...

95% of Cal's recruits have seen their stocks rise, not fall.

Most schools cannot say that, and certainly not Kansas (Alexander, Selby, Seldon, etc.) or Michigan State (Adrian Payne, Dawson, Appling, Delvon Roe, etc.).

He has 7 in his career, and he has done it with FAR less talent then Cal has ever had.

You didn't answer my question.

And you obviously never watched any of Cal's Umass or Memphis teams if you think this.
