I'm glad it wasn't a LAUSGood WHEN for the Cats
Hey maybe one day a negative fan will say “that top ten team we walloped at home really took that ass beating to heart and never recovered”.
They will both be QUAD 1Neither Miami or Gonzaga will be QUAD 1 wins.
People can downplay this, BUT, this is a big deal. The difference between a 2-seed or a 3/4-seed. It matters.

But we can't control it so there is 0 point harping on it.
Miami and Gonzag were both considered very tough games at the beginning of the seasonNope, but it's also a flaw that UK does not understand how to schedule, overall.
It absolutely matters. Seeding matters.Neither Miami or Gonzaga will be QUAD 1 wins.

I can't believe we would schedule a team like Miami. That was a horrible decision by Calipari.I can't believe Cal would cause Miami to lose all these games and make our win look worse.

UNC was a great win but it’s our only good win.North Carolina win looking better and better though.
Agreed. It was so important that we beat UNC for all the reasons you just said.UNC was a great win but it’s our only good win.
Florida and Mizzou are trash.
The UNCW loss is going to haunt us all season.
Somehow we need to sweep UT and pull out a win at Auburn because the rest of the SEC and Gonzaga have turned out to be overrated.
And we can’t afford another bad loss to a bad team.
So basically, we need to go undefeated?UNC was a great win but it’s our only good win.

Other coaches love to see Cal in their region. We are very dangerous even now and no one is going to be happy to see us in their region in the Big Dance.
We are the easiest team in the country to prepare for. Man to man, switching defense.Other coaches love to see Cal in their region.
Just ask Tom Crean, Bruce Weber, Shaheen Holloway, and Jerome Tang.
They all took much less talented teams and sent Cal home to his dogs.
This team has good talent but Cal is a major underachiever.
It's been the longest period of time between one seeds in the history of our program and counting. 1 seeds win the NCAA tournament over 60% of the time. You don't have to have your Masters in Mathematics to know that that means 1 seeds have won more NCAA tournaments than every other seed ... combined. So basically, we need to go undefeated?
Not a realistic expectation in today's SEC and guarantees you are going to be miserable.
While a one seed at this point seems unlikely, there is no reason whatsoever that a seed other than a one can make a deep run in the tournament.
I'm looking for continuous improvement, especially on the defensive end, and then will hope we get hot in March.

I love this team and think they have as good of a chance to make a Final Four run as any team we've had in years (especially if Thiero gets healthy), I just think earning a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament is more important than others might.I guess you can give up and wait for our impending doom, but I'm enjoying watching this team grow and mature.
We're not going to be title favorites, but if we improve our defense / rebounding at all, we will be right in the thick of the hunt this year.
It's been a few years since that has been the case, but that's really all I ask for in a coach / program.
When you're a legit title contender consistently, you are going to win your share. Call has one. He's been very close on several others.
Time to get back there again!
My thoughts exactly.I love this team and think they have as good of a chance to make a Final Four run as any team we've had in years (especially if Thiero gets healthy), I just think earning a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament is more important than others might.

Sorry. Wasn't intending to reply to you or suggest you had given up.I love this team and think they have as good of a chance to make a Final Four run as any team we've had in years (especially if Thiero gets healthy), I just think earning a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament is more important than others might.
Win the conference and/or the conference tournament and UNCW will have little to no factor in our seeding. I would venture to guess if we are at or near the top of the conference with either and Auburn or UT, then whichever one of us wins the Conference Tourney will get planted in the 2 seed spot.UNC was a great win but it’s our only good win.

This team has the talent to get there. Cal does not have the intestinal fortitude or introspection necessary to mold this team into a champion.I guess you can give up and wait for our impending doom, but I'm enjoying watching this team grow and mature.

This game was scheduled as part of the SEC/ACC challenge. Think ESPN and maybe the conferences had input.Nope, but it's also a flaw that UK does not understand how to schedule, overall.
