Memphis Fan Gary Parrish Keeps Duke in his CBS Top 25 Plus One and Keeps UK Out

He did it to draw attention to himself and his goofy poll.
I was going to say - he must have been losing business (hits) or something
we ARE crazy enough to go mad when someone says something negative, no matter who it is[laughing]
It's why Tipton still has a job

Duke is getting the benefit of the doubt because of the Jefferson injury. I can see why some would though. If he comes back their team will probably go on a winning streak.

It's one man's opinion with all the inherent bias all of us have in our held opinions. If he's a voter in the AP poll he's probably not the only one who left us out. As noted in another thread we only have 3 wins over the top 50. Kenpom I assume. And that Auburn loss was horrid. We had no business giving up a lead and losing to that team. The rankings are punishing us for it. Rightly so. I like Pearl and think him a good coach, but that was an awful loss.

This is why I love the Memphis program being destroyed. Pastner has killed any mojo they had, and they can't fire him. His recruiting has completely tanked as well. Loved seeing east Carolina smack those b*****s in the mouth last night. They can't even defend their home floor against a no win AAC team.

My oh my how wrong @WSU/UKfan was. Wonder if he's got the guts to admit it finally.

Parrish is a hack journalist. Cal owned his ass while he was at Memphis and he knows it. He's kissed because cal has nothing to do with him anymore. Learn the history between them and you'll understand

He hates Calipari because he was his boy at one time and now cal has zero to do with him. If Memphis has our exact losses and our exact schedule he'd rank them 18-20. Bank it.

Screw Parrish and his stupid pole.

back to back impressive wins.

That is what makes it so apparent this is for page views. He knows enough to know our up and down play has been about finding out how the pieces can fit together and trying to bring Skal along.

I share everyone's sentiments about Parrish, and I agree that it's a joke that the 'Cats aren't in his Top 25, but ...

I was just taking a look at Missouri, in anticipation of Wednesday night's game, and I find that Mizzou is 8-11 overall, 1-5 in the SEC, and that their eight (8) wins have come against Wofford, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Arkansas State, Northern Illinois, Omaha, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Savannah State, and . . . [ drum roll ] . . . AUBURN ! ! ! One would have to assume that our loss to Auburn looms large in any assessment of the 'Cats performance this season.

I think somebody posited on this board after the Auburn game that it was U.K.'s worst loss under Calipari. I really didn't think much about that post at the time. Outside of the Duke game, we have played so poorly this year that, well, who's counting. But reviewing Missouri's schedule thus far has led me to conclude that that poster was right. How in God's name could we lose to Auburn ? And blow a 10-point lead, no less ! ! ! That's rich as three-foot-up-a-bull's-a..... !

But, we have a HOF coach and the No. 1 Recruiting Class, and will undoubtedly have the greatest number of NBA draftees again this summer. Rejoice ! ! !

Just seems like people forget.

Ulis was not 100% for two of our losses. UCLA and Ohio State

We also were missing Lee for UCLA and Willis for Ohio State.

People act like we have been 100%, and we have not.

He is obsessed with Kenpom. The committee doesn't even use that metric. It is just his opinion so it's meaningless and the official rankings don't mean that much as I don't think the committee pays much attention to them either.

He may not have an anti-UK bias, but he surely knows that leaving UK out will draw extra attention to his poll.

Especially when UK is obviously in by any measure on the planet, and coming off back to back impressive wins.
No question about that.

I agree totally with that last sentence. You had a typo but you know once calling someone a Polack was
akin to calling them stupid so it works either way!

Injuries played a part in at least 2 of our losses.

Ulis elbow injury, Marcus Lee's head injury, Briscoe's ankle, etc. I guess Parrish wasn't aware of this or the injury excuse only applies to Duke.

That's what I thought. He is a douche. I tweeted asking him to explain how he kept Butler, who is 2-5 in conference and 2-5 in last 7 games in but no reply. Shocking. LOL.

Was thinking the same thing. I can see Duke and that's not the one that is so glaring. But Butler, really, if you have a losing record in conference play you shouldn't be ranked in anyone's top 25 or whatever the top 25 plus one is. He loses all credibility with that one alone. And should even with people that don't know his disdain for Cal and UK.
