I doubt Pope just takes him without some kind of medical clearance or something from some doctors.

No brainer if he's healthy - smart kid, too. But man we've had enough injuries for a couple seasons already under Pope.
If JQ recovers well, assume he comes here, we will be on another level as JQ is really dominant in defense
Maybe the plan is: He can't get hurt early if we don't play him until January. lol just kidding but after all the injuries this past year it's funny to think about.
I will say with how the roster currently is, JQ could sit for a while and we should be fine. Still think it's a longshot.
I hope Pope is looking at him as a “flier” type player and isn’t counting on him to do much this season coming off the injuries. If he’s the 14th or 15th guy and looking to rehab next season, and play the next, or at the end of the season if he is ready, I’m all for it.
If Pppe is planning on him to be a integral piece next season and paying him the cash of a starter, then it’s a big mistake, IMHO.

It typically takes 6-9 months to recover. So yeah it is risky but that’s why they pay Pope the big bucks.
Also he wouldn't really run anybody off as he wouldn't immediately threaten anyone for playing time.

You can't give him the NIL bag he would get if he was 100% healthy. There's no way of knowing if his ACL will heal properly and without further issue after the surgery. High risk should equal a much lower NIL bag. Maybe give him half now and the other half when they see how he responds to recovery mode. But that's for Pope to navigate.

I get why you take JQ, he is an enticing athlete with limitless potential. Next years team needs shooting. Go get Alvaro and Yates and call it a roster. Let’s auburn spend a good chunk of their NIl budget to get him
There are lots of things about NIL that aren’t supposed to be “legal.” But it seems just about anything goes right now. I mean, I don’t think coaches and universities are supposed to be negotiating NIL deals with players, but that is exactly what is happening at every program in the country.
If a player is demanding certain dollar figures and terms for NIL deals, I don’t see why the other entity that is writing the checks can’t negotiate their terms for the deal as well.
Still need an experienced big that can protect the rim and rebound. Garrison can't play full games. Still need an experienced big that is great offensively, and Alvaro gives us that and a lot more. Still need a great shooting/scoring guard that is experienced, wish it were Pierre.

High risk, potentially high reward. Barring full recovery. I say take him. I think he would fill amari Williams role perfectly. Obviously has regret from decommiting. Or wouldn't be interested again. I love the idea.
If we get Alvaro too we have enough bigs to let him heal. He obviously is very young still and has a ton of talent. Maybe let him sit till he’s ready. Deploy him for SEC season but it would have to be for the right price.

Pope knows that Alvaro is his gem. That guy is ridiculously talented. Saw where a guy has Alvaro as his #8 NBA draft portal player. Just hate the waiting!
Alvaro is only 6-9, his 7-6 wingspan may be the reason he rebounds well

ACL injuries are not nearly as devastating as they once were
remember DA could have played in the title game and his ACL injury happened during the season
i have no doubt that physically he will be healed up, but mentally is always the question
The more you watch him his IQ is super high. Positioning, footwork and motor are all great. Just a super highly skilled 4 man. That wingspan certainly helps with that as you said!
