While I would have been more than pleased with him that was my biggest concern in being able to handle the KY fanbase so I agree this.
UK is going to pay someone a lot of money. They will end up with a good coach.
Getting turned down by guys at Alabama and BAYLOR is a humbling experience

Did I imply anywhere in my post that our opinions directly impacted the decision? We're going to end up with an even worse candidate, and those saying Drew wasn't the answer are going to look even more silly.
IDK, at the end of the day Cal is in Arkansas and we didn't pay a buyout.
Should be a lot of happy people on here today. I’m a bit disappointed.
Next season is going to be a shitshow. Drew was our best chance at being competitive.

I just don’t know if you can wait on Donovan in the current landscape. It could be weeks before he’s done with the Bulls, and his lack of recruiting connections (or desire to even recruit) and experience with NIL/portal scare me. We all know he’s a great coach, but if you take him you have to accept that we could be the worst team in the SEC next year as we may be getting a roster full of a bunch of guys that couldn’t find a landing spot with a decent school.
22 years is hard to just up and walk away from. That’s fully developed roots right there. That’s the only home your kids have known. Sometimes those things outweigh all the money and attention of coaching at a place like UK. I think he would have done very well here but understand how difficult it is to uproot like that, especially when you pretty much make FU money as it is.

He wasn't going to fit here. This is the right decision. Time to go all in on Billy Donovan.
His personality did not match this fanbase. It takes a special dude, WE NEED A KILLER.

Thanks to this failure, by the time we have a coach there won't be any portal guys or recruits left.
He needs to leave the Bulls immediately then.
Time to move on to Golden, young up and coming coach!
It was so obvious. Add in he has 20 NCAA tournament wins in the last 15 years. He was a terrible choice and fit.

Billy won't be able to take the calls, nor will his agent. Breach of contract. He's still coaching his team.
