And he is just a young kid.....lol. Once he decides to put away the toys and matures he is going to do big things. Kind of reminds me of how Ralph Hacker worked his way into the UK cash cow. Kid is putting in the work to earn whatever it is he wants to do when he grows up, or I mean, gains experience and maturity. Lol.
Wait, you never see a pick and roll? I would agree he doesn't run a ton of offensive sets except in certain situations, but it might be time for a Minority Report eyeball swap. Seriously!
Fact is I am sure there are a lot of Cat/Card fans within the BBN.
One, due to Pitino. Still a lot of Pitino lovers around.
But mainly just sports fans who keep up with both teams as well as other state schools. Yet when UK UL play their for the Blue.
No doubt there are a lot of Card/Cat fans down the road in Looserville. It's crazy but it is a fact.
I'm not sure we've ever had a huge problem losing at home to crummy teams. Maybe our only losing season in about 90 years, 1989.

To all my stalking danglers, I've been busy today and haven't checked the board or the KSR podcast until now. Personally I'm not bothered one bit. Matt is entertaining but he's a homer and a blowhard that will never dare question Cal. His biggest downfall is his arrogance, especially since he has nothing to be arrogant about.
I stand by my comments in the thread I started the other night.
As for him calling posters out. I thought about calling Rivals since I do pay money for their service to try and get @MattJonesKSR banned for calling out a paying member on air but it's not worth the time. He would just get another account so he could find content to use on his site and radio show.
Like I said, I find this amusing more than anything. I might even try calling the show if I have time tomorrow.
I do find it funny how one of Matt's little sayings is "punch up but never punch down." Then he proceeds to punch down on random message board posters on his show when we don't have a way to defend ourselves.
Lastly, this is all about Cal in the end. He's let 3 SEC teams beat us and neither have our talent. Two aren't even in the same planet talent wise. Two are also coached by guys who BBN thinks are two of the worst coaches in the country. So, I guess Cal isn't to blame for any of that.
I guess he also isn't to blame for rarely making in-game adjustments, using a zone, letting the air out when ahead only to have the team make a comeback, leaving the Twins in late VS Wisconsin after those 3 shot clock violations, leaving Briscoe in late in games when he knows the other team will foul or when we might need to get fouled, letting Murray run around doing whatever the hell he wants, and not making any of his teams practice free throws and actually improve. He can use the time excuse but it's BS.
But ALLLLL that stuff is fine, "because we are young." And Cal has 4 second, third, and forth places finishes in the last 5 years. Whatever. You play to win titles. Not to make Final Fours. They're great if you never make them but they have become a crutch for Cal's defenders.

I'm just a turd so please forgive me. I am one who roots for UK first, if we lose I am for our other state schools. I loved Murray a few years ago. I wanted UL to win the championship when they played. There are surely turds in Louisville who are the same way and offset my insanity.
As far as Pitino, we saw some signs of pure arrogance when he was here. He talked down to the fanbase and we all were reminded his wife didn't like living in Ky. That made us even more grateful for each year he stayed despite offerers. We remembered the probation too well.
His shortcomings as a person are well documented, he is an Ahole. In my opinion of following basketball since I entered the lower intestine (about 45 yrs) he is one of the best ever to coach. Horrible person, and I think he packs it in soon at UL. UNLV may pay his salary++ a pass to Dennis Hoff's Bunny Ranch for RP and players/recruits. He is brilliant, this will go undetected there.
I highly doubt calling out trolls will hurt this site. This is one of the most populated sports forums probably in the entire world, Matt Jones couldn't take down or hurt this site even if he wanted to.
I support you Matt and enjoy your show. I am a diehard UK and Calipari supporter. I too,am on the "dark side" but with my diet and all.....well just look at me, a darkie little turd.

Lmao. It cracks me up that you obviously believe that you're making great, killer points here - as if every great coach doesn't have multiple head scratching losses basically every single year in CBB.
Somehow, time after time, yo fail to understand that everybody is looking at the big pattern. He has a winning record against less talent. He has a winning record against comparable talent. He has a winning record versus the inferior coaches. He has winning or tied records versus basically all the HOF coaches. Lesser players can beat better players some times, and so can lesser coaches beat better coaches. And great coaches have bad performances all the time. Self lost by 30+ to Cal when Self had burger boys coming off the bench. Doesn't mean Self sucks. K failed to win the title with 5 lotto picks, including the #1, and he's lost a 2/15 and 3/14 game recently. He's worse this year than Cal's team, and they have the same amount of HS AAs. So no, pointing to individual losses does nothing to override the rest of Cal's great accomplishments. And you know all this stuff already - but you only apply the standard to Cal. Because you are an agenda poster.

I've been on this site for well over a decade. It wasn't until whenever I got a premium account that I made this username. You really think I'd pay over $100 a year to a UK site if I were a UL fan? A few mods know my past usernames and can tell you I've been around a long time.
I honest to God wanted Cal after Tubby left. I didn't have an opinion one way or another on if he was dirty at Memphis. Many posters wanted him at that same time as well. I still like Cal, he just infuriate me at times with things he does.
It's funny how you can't say anything at all negative about Cal. I also remember the majority of the board blasting anybody that trashed Gillespie when he was here also. It's not the same situation but it proves that most will take up for a UK coach no matter how good or bad he is.

Should Cal not be held to a higher standard? He's at the greatest basketball program ever and has had the best recruiting run ever. Yet we are supposed to hold him to the same standard as Bob Huggins, Tom Crean, or Kevin Stallings? That makes zero sense.
And all of this complaining wouldn't be here from me and a large portion of other if he had just finished off last year or one of the others. It all comes down to just having 1 title when there should have been 2 at the very least. He's currently our generations Dean Smith.
Tell me, if Cal leaves in 7-10 years or even after this year, will you not be disappointed that we only got 1 title during his run? If anybody says they'd be satisfied with that 1 title then they're lying or have standards of a UL fan.
No, I'm saying you hold him to a higher standard than Self and K and Miller, etc who also have elite recruits coming off the bench.
If you apply your standard consistently across the board, then those guys all suck, because according to you, having five star starters and 4 or 5 star bench guys means that Final Fours every year should be a given, and multiple championships are required within 6 years, and losing to inferior teams should never happen. But it happens plenty, to all of them.
So do they suck? Of course they don't, according to any rational fan. But you're not rational about Cal.
Of course I'd rather have more titles, but he's winning postseason games at a faster pace than even Rupp did, so betting against him to win another is absolute lunacy.

he also had that same core group in 95 and did nothing
i do agree that we could have as many as 3 titles instead of 1
a lot of schools/coaches could have a few more titles
the best team does not always win in a OAD tournament

Once again you are taking a truly historical run for granted. Only 2 coaches IN THE HISTORY OF THE SPORT besides Cal have been to the final four 4 times in 5 years. Wooden and K. We were mired in our longest final four drought in our storied history before Cal and now we have"fans" like you pissing on 4 in 5 years because of "only" one title. Its not only pathetic, it absolutely disgusts me that we have people who are this entitled. No matter what standard you hold Cal to, he is at worst the 2nd best coach in the game right now.
We have not only won more games the last 6 years than any other team, we also have by far the most tournament wins the last 6 years. We have doubled the final fours of the next closest team the last 6 years and of course our title. But please continue to piss all over the second greatest coaching run in our storied history because we do jot have more of something. You give us all a bad name bro with this stupidity.
