I usually butt heads with this guy but even he’s saying he thinks Matt is right. And Cal is likely gone.

Matt said on the post game show last night he hasn't really had any UK basketball connections to Calipari since Dwayne Peavy left. Said for the first 10 years, he talked with Calipari on a regular basis. But after Matt questioned him in the 9-16 year, Calipari cut off the relationship.

He said all the people who used to be willing to tell Calipari what he needed to do are gone.. Peavy, Robic, Beisner, and a few others. Said everyone on current staff loves him too much and are afraid to cross him, by telling him the truth. And Calipari has no relationship with Barnhart or donors, or anyone in the athletic or UK administration.

Matt said it was just his thinking. No sources or inside information.

Personally, Calipari only leaves UK when/if he wants. Not getting fired.. at least this year.

If he would front half of the yearly payments, it would be done. But I get it. I wouldn't want to pay 2.5 million a year to a guy I didn't like either. But, IF i had that kind of money, my love for UK BBall would win out.

With Cal:
I think Wagner, Edwards are going pro route at whatever level, no matter what. I think Bradshaw looks at a pro route and then reality hits him and he transfers. I see UGO transferring. I see Burks transferring. I see Hart transferring.
Assuming all of next years six recruits still enroll, possibly a return of Thierro, maybe Sheppard and maybe Z.

Without Cal:

I've been too gullible over these last few years to the point I'm apathetic to whatever happens, either way. I'm going to miss scheduling my winter and spring months around UK basketball!!!!!!

I believe the only way the majority of the fanbase could give Cal and Company one more chance next year to be different is IF, IF, IF Cal is still at UK is that he/ they commit to something like the following:

1. Spends the next few weeks recruiting SEVEN of this years underclassmen into returning next year,
2. Gives a BIG heartfelt (🤣) mea-culpa to the fanbase ASAP,
3. Does NOT attend the NBA Draft in June,
4. (Mitch) hires a DEFENSE assistant coach ASAP,
5. Removes Bruiser from UK basketball ASAP,
6. Promotes Tyler Ulis to Bruiser's seat right next to Cal,
7. Has a summer tour around the state to communicate to the fanbase (and to current and future players) what's gone wrong and what the staff plans to do to emphasize to the fans what the REAL goal for UK basketball will be moving forward.
8. The Administration and the full basketball staff reemphasizing and focusing the full basketball program this spring/ summer/ early fall on skill improvement (not bowling or SJW/ BLM initiatives) and for ONLY the success of the name on the front of the UK jerseys!!!!

Agreed. I don't think he would've fired BCG so quickly had it not been for him not being under an official contract. He's lazy and gutless. If it means more work for him, he's not doing it.
