PTI, in classic fashion, has a biting point in spite of his snark.
If the maniac had purple hair, a segment of this country would point and go, "yet another unreported/under reported liberal maniac murdering innocent people again."
Same for if it was a deranged early 20s white guy with a manifesto riddled with grammatical errors.
Its political theater to most people for some reason and that is depressing as hell. This person clearly had a motive but a flag and the claims of some barely existing terrorist organization is hardly proof of anything.
Its natural to want to know more about why someone would want to do something we all find so deranged and bizarre, it's just unfortunate that everything is through the purview of politics now.
We barely had the guys name reported and already knew who he donated to, his voter registration and a ton of other details that likely had nothing to do with the decision to callously kill dozens of people.

There have actually been studies on this. People who regularly watch Fox News are less informed than people who consume no news at all.
The guy lived down the street from a mosque in a trailer park with other Muslims. Yet I read in the WSJ that he worked for Deloitte and at some point made at least 125k a year. Wasn’t this the plot of Homeland or some other show? Normal American Muslim falls on hard times and becomes a radical terrorist?

MSM was slow to report the ISIS flag on the back of the truck. If it was a Trump flag, they would have ran with it within seconds.

Can’t speak for PTI, but I think this is exactly what he’s hinting at: tribalism. My team vs your team and all the assumptions, truthfully or not, associated with either side. And you went straight there with the MSM shot.

This isnt a my team vs your team, its common sense. Call it what it is. The FBI agent at first called it an "event" and not a terrorist attack. There was an ISIS flag on the back of the truck. Why was it covered up?

Their definition might be different than your since it includes: intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence the policy of government, affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction.
Did they have enough information at that time to make a determination based on their definition? Or was it just another nut job going off the rails?
It could be FBI SoP to simply prevent panic in an active crime scene that was densely populated by guest/tourist. Or a host of other reasons we wouldn’t even consider because we’ve never been in that position.

I would argue terrorists are the worst. When you're taking something that did happen and use it to create a scenario that didn't happen about Donald Trump and one of his flags, you're playing my team vs your team. When you'd rather take shots at the "MSM" for a scenario you created, you're playing my team vs your team. Fact is, an attack occurred and numerous people were killed. Let's stick with what happened and those facts instead of using that to make this about Trump and his merchandise. Not everything in your life should revolve around a politician.

It would appear that (if it is a suicide bombing as it appears) he purposefully did it so no one would be hurt. The Sheriff out there said that the Tesla truck design created a shell that directed force upwards. He didn't use high explosive or shrapnel. Presumably this guy is capable of ultra violence at scale with his training and is highly intelligent or he wouldn't be in that rank.
Would have to be entirely symbolic if everything is as it seems. That does not seem to be the same motivation as the NOLA guy -- which was carnage.
Also, I will bet that it turns out NOLA was a lone wolf who was radicalized online. I doubt anyone provided any intentional aid to him. A truck attack is basically straight out of the ISIS manual.
Well now let’s not jump to conclusions about the Ft. Hood shooter. Do we really know why he killed those people? Seems like some people really trying to push a narrative there. Probably from watching too much Fox News instead of the Russia pee tape channel.
If they were still collecting information, that would been the obvious thing to say. “This is an ongoing investigation with nothing specific to report at this time.”

The FBI has a long way to go before they earn back the benefit of the doubt. Jumping in front of a camera to immediately proclaim the man who just murdered a bunch of people, while carrying IEDs and flying an ISIS flag is not a terrorist is not a step in the right direction towards building trust.

It's clear that he was influenced by ISIS to commit violence but do we really believe he's a part of a terrorist cell of ISIS/ISIL, who has been predominantly stamped out since about 2016? I mean, allegedly they were able to slaughter a hundred Russians earlier this year, but I'm thinking it's the case they just take credit for any act of terror to stay relevant.
That's the bigger point here. Everyone is concerned about making sure their side doesn't look bad that they keep ignoring the actual issue. Did this guy have money problems like the Vegas shooter? A history of mental illness (likely, they all do). Was there any indication that violence was a tendency for him (also likely based on the restraining order from 2nd wife)?
When we can start answering those questions, we may get better at stopping these things. For now, though, we keep giving monkeys knives and chanting.
