I see. So let me get this straight. Because those mean tough guys from WVA, lesser individually skilled basketball players are they, had the collective ability to send a more skilled freshman player to the MD bench where he basically finished the game hiding his face and crying into his jersey, we may conclude that the lesser overall opponent prevailed? Just another little tidbit if you are worried, Melo Trimble's exit, Maryland fell apart completely, growing sloppy and disjointed on offense. So, a Freshman injury changed the game. No worries.
You have yet to establish that physical teams are UK's biggest weakness.Originally posted by wild mandu:
I never understood that line of reasoning.
Why would you want the physical, offensive rebounding team (UK's biggest weakness) with depth over the better shooting team (UK kills opponents field goal percentage) who will play a less physical game, straight up basketball, and struggles with rebounding?
It's not about seeding or regular season results, it's about matchups in March.

I think they're more likely (key word) to give UK trouble than a finesse team. I never said there was a silver bullet to beat this team, because there isn't. They can adapt to any style. But when you look at some of our "closer" games (Texas, UL, LSU) those teams stayed close by going strong on us in some manner. Ole Miss was an anomaly; they were hitting everything. Cincinnati, a HORRIBLE offensive team, hung for a half, and even cut the lead in the second, by being physical and rebounding on offense. WVU is much better than UC.Originally posted by Prime MF:

My first piece of evidence is 36-0.
Your turn.
If I recall didn't West Virginia hold about a 6 point lead when Trimble went out of the game somewhere with 8-10 minutes to go? Is this the same reasoning that we lost the Florida Game in 2013 because Noel went down even though we were losing by 12 points when it happened?Originally posted by uk78:

His own player kicked him in the head and sent him to the bench...watch the games please.Originally posted by KopiKat:

Possibly, but it was a one point game at the half and it was still a one point game with about 11 minutes left in the game. Trimble got leveled on that illegal screen about 3 or 4 minutes into the second half. He wasn't the same player after that. He got kicked in the back of the head by his own player with about 8:30 left in the game and never returned.Originally posted by JerseyCat84:
I think West Virginia would've still won even with a healthy Trimble in the game.
LMAO if a 1 pt lead is clear then i think we have different meanings on what clear means . Maryland was the better team and they proved that over the season but since everyone wants UK to go down they are pumping WVU up.Originally posted by kyjeff1:
It was clear as day that West Virginia was the better team even before Trimble went out. Trimble turned the ball over a few times himself, that press was just too much for Maryland and that was very apparent from the beginning.
