I don't think the coaches will allow Carter to do so, in spite of any promises made at the signing. Anyhow, Carter might be wasted on offense in Stoops "2 yards and cloud of dust" offense.

BTW, Carter's former team, PTHS is expected to close to their 2024 state champion level in spite of losing 26 seniors. They recently picked up four star wide-receiver/defensive back Chance McPike via transfer. And in 2025, the football world will get an eyeful of the extraordinary talent of sophomore to be Avery Thompson. As a 7th grader, Thompson posed for a picture with Michael Vick on a Virginia Tech football fan website. The caption on the picture read "One of these is the best option quarterback I've ever seen; the other is Michael Vick." At at time, I thought this was off the wall, comparing a 7th grade middle schooler with a former NFL player. Thompson is gonna 6-4,6-5 with world class athleticism, speed, and quickness. UK staff should camp out in Paducah for the next few years.

Anything is possible, and many more players are going to want to play the Travis Hunter role. If he is the best option to do things on offense and defense, then why not? What does the coaching staff have to lose?

Carter is very talented, but he seems like a typical highly rated recruit of Stoops that only gets special teams play i.e. Brian Robinson. I really hope he can develop into a player and get time at safety because the current starting safeties are bad.
